Job summary

Marysadan in India seeks a Legal Advisor with 3–5 years of experience to provide expert guidance on business, contractual, commercial, employment and operational matters, ensuring the organization operates in full legal compliance and its interests are protected across all engagements.

Responsibilities

  • Provide legal advice and guidance to management and various departments on business, contractual, commercial, employment, and operational matters.
  • Review tenders, PWD contracts, project agreements, subcontractor agreements, purchase agreements, and other project-related documents and identify potential legal and commercial risks.
  • Monitor and manage ongoing and potential legal disputes, claims, notices, litigations, and arbitration matters involving the company.
  • Coordinate with external advocates, legal consultants, government authorities, courts, tribunals, and other statutory bodies whenever required.
  • Prepare responses to legal notices, show-cause notices, claims, demands, and other official/legal communications.
  • Conduct legal research and keep management informed about changes in applicable laws, rules, regulations, notifications, and government orders relevant to the organization.
  • Coordinate with HR on employment agreements, disciplinary matters, employee disputes, termination-related documentation, and labour law issues.
  • Prepare periodic reports for management on legal cases, contracts, matters, notices, disputes, compliance status, and pending legal actions.
  • Draft, review, and vet agreements, MOUs, NDAs, and other legal documents.
  • Assist in obtaining statutory approvals, licences, and clearances required for project execution.
  • Perform any other legal responsibilities assigned by the management from time to time.
  • Provide legal advice on contracts, compliance, and operational matters

Qualifications
  • LLB / LLM from a recognized university.
  • Enrolment with the Bar Council of Kerala or relevant State Bar Council.
Years of Experience

3 to 5 Years of relevant experience as a Legal Advisor, Legal Executive, or Legal Officer, preferably with exposure to construction, infrastructure, or PWD contracts

Person Requirements
  • Strong knowledge of contract law, commercial law, labour law, and relevant Indian statutes.
  • Experience in construction, infrastructure, and PWD contracts will be a strong advantage.
  • Excellent legal research, drafting, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential matters with high integrity and discretion.
  • Familiarity with court procedures, arbitration processes, and statutory compliance frameworks.
  • Proficiency in MS Office for documentation and reporting.
  • Good communication skills in Hindi, English, and Malayalam.
