Job summary

Alstom in Bengaluru, India, seeks a Senior Unified Communications, Collaboration & End User Services Architect to lead global Digital Workplace design and governance for 80,000+ users.

You will drive Microsoft 365, Teams, Exchange Online, SharePoint Online lifecycle, and security alignment across regions, while enabling modernization such as telephony, endpoint management, and VDI, with a focus on resilience and cost efficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, CS, IT.
• 12+ years IT experience, 8+ years in UC/Digital Workplace/EA.
• Global architecture leadership on large-scale workplace programs.
• Expert knowledge of Microsoft 365, Teams, Intune, AD, endpoint management.
• Strong security principles: CA, MFA, Zero Trust.
• TOGAF or equivalent certifications preferred.
• Excellent leadership and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to drive innovation with governance.

Responsibilities

• Define and govern Alstom's Digital Workplace architecture with security and scalability.
• Lead global architecture and design activities across teams.
• Govern a multi-year technology roadmap aligned with business priorities.

You’ll be at the forefront of defining and governing Alstom's global Digital Workplace and Unified Communications architecture, ensuring a seamless and secure experience for over 80,000 users worldwide. Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with teams across the business (Digital Workplace Operations, Cybersecurity, Infrastructure Services, and regional IT teams), lead architecture and design activities, and govern a multi-year technology roadmap, ensuring alignment with business priorities and security standards.

You’ll specifically take care of the architecture, strategy, and lifecycle management of Microsoft 365, Teams, Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, and other critical workplace services, but also enable workplace modernization initiatives, such as telephony modernization, endpoint management, and virtual desktop technologies.

We’ll look to you for:

Defining and governing the target architecture for Alstom's Digital Workplace ecosystem, ensuring security, resilience, and scalability.

Leading workplace transformation initiatives, including cloud migrations and legacy platform retirements.

Designing and governing Unified Communications solutions, such as Teams Phone, Direct Routing, and enterprise meetings.

Embedding security, privacy, and regulatory requirements into workplace designs, including Zero Trust principles.

Optimizing Microsoft 365 licensing and consumption governance to ensure cost-effectiveness.

Providing architectural leadership and coaching to distributed teams of architects and specialists.

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.

12+ years of overall IT experience, with 8+ years in Unified Communications, Digital Workplace technologies, or Enterprise Architecture.

Proven experience leading global architecture teams and delivering large-scale workplace transformation programs.

Expert knowledge of Microsoft 365, Teams, Intune, Active Directory, and endpoint management technologies.

Strong understanding of security principles, including Conditional Access, MFA, and Zero Trust architecture.

TOGAF or equivalent certifications preferred.

Excellent leadership, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.

Ability to drive innovation while maintaining operational stability and governance.
