Job summary

Societe Generale SA in Chennai seeks a Lead Systems Engineer to drive the implementation, support, and lifecycle management of global network security and proxy platforms. The successful candidate will provide technical leadership, mentor engineers, and ensure secure, reliable delivery of critical network services.

You will lead design, migrations, deployments, and documentation of HLDs, LLDs, migration/test plans, and SOPs while ensuring production standards and security requirements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Demonstrated hands-on network engineering experience in large-scale enterprise environments.
  • Strong documentation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Willingness to work in EMEA hours (Paris Time Zone).

Responsibilities

  • Manage and support enterprise load balancers, proxy services, firewalls, and related network security technologies.
  • Lead and participate in projects to improve service visibility, availability, and security.
  • Perform health checks, troubleshooting, diagnostics, and remediation for production incidents.
  • Implement user web-browsing and connectivity requirements while ensuring security policy compliance.
  • Coordinate project delivery and change management processes.

Lead Systems Engineer - Network Security & Proxy Services

We are seeking an experienced Lead Systems Engineer to lead the implementation, support, and lifecycle management of global network security and proxy platforms. The successful candidate will provide technical leadership, drive operational excellence, mentor team members, and ensure the secure, reliable delivery of critical network services. Experience in network design, web hosting infrastructure, and large-scale enterprise environments is highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the implementation, deployment, and operational support of global network security solutions.
  • Provide technical leadership for complex network migrations, upgrades, installations, and production deployments.
  • Own the lifecycle management of network security, proxy, and load balancing platforms.
  • Document recurring issues, root causes, solutions, and operational procedures.
  • Mentor and train engineers to strengthen team capability and technical expertise.
  • Develop and maintain High-Level Designs (HLDs), Low-Level Designs (LLDs), migration plans, test plans, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Ensure compliance with production standards, operational acceptance testing, and security requirements.
  • Drive continuous service improvement through process optimization and enhanced user experience.
  • Collaborate closely with business and service teams to gather requirements and deliver secure connectivity solutions.
  • Participate in and lead outage calls, incident resolution, and problem management activities.
Day-to-Day Activities
