Hitachi Energy Technology Services Pvt. Ltd. in Chennai is seeking an experienced Structural Engineer to lead project-specific GIS steel structure design and documentation.

The role involves developing drawings for manufacturing and coordinating with civil and mechanical teams across multiple locations. You will perform design calculations (STAAD.Pro, IdeaStatic, Ansys, Hilti Profits) and contribute to Tekla modelling where required, while ensuring compliance with international codes and HSE

Qualificações

• 8–10 years of experience in Civil & Structural Engineering.
• Hands-on experience in Structural engineering using STAAD.Pro, Idea-static, Ansys & Hilti Profits.
• Hands-on experience in Tekla, Navisworks and other modelling software.
• Familiarity with codes and standards for Structural Modelling & Detailing (American, European, Canadian).
• Team player with good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of AutoCAD, MS Office, etc.
• Knowledge of galvanization & painting procedures.
• Knowledge of OSHA, DIN and other HSE standards is mandatory.
• Knowledge of IEC/IEEE/ANSI is preferable.
• Knowledge of HV substation / HV products preferable.
• Working knowledge of Tekla structures is an added advantage.

Responsabilidades

• Be part of the GIS Steel Structural Engineering team as project lead engineer for documents and drawings.
• Coordinate with colleagues and other departments to ensure timely task delivery.
• Interact with Primary Engineering, Secondary engineering, Project Management and Production units.
• Plan and coordinate with internal & external stakeholders for smooth execution.
• Prepare design calculations for Steel Support Structures for GIS equipment above 66kV; Tekla modelling may be required.
• Ensure inputs are available from stakeholders and maintain project documentation per quality processes.
• Deliver designs on time with quality, and collaborate with team members and project lead engineer.
• Maintain and update project documentation as per quality processes.

How You’ll Make An Impact

• You will be a part of the GIS Steel Structural Engineering team, you will be supporting as project lead engineer to develop project specific engineering documents and drawings for submission to customer and the documents required for manufacturing of Steel Support Structures for GIS equipment (transmission and sub-transmission systems).
• You will be an individual contributor who would deliver the tasks as per the given inputs and when required need to work in coordination with other colleagues and should exhibit good collaborative skills to complete the task.
• You may also interact with other departments like Primary Engineering, Secondary engineering, Project Management and Production units.
• Project Planning and coordination with various internal & external stakeholders for a smooth project execution.
• Preparation of Design calculation (in Staad. Pro, Idea-static & Hilti profits) of Steel Support Structures for Gas Insulated Switchgears above 66kV. (Contribution to Tekla modelling will be mandatorily required in certain projects).
• Ensure all necessary inputs are available from stakeholders.
• Prepare project specific Civil plan for customer providing GIS loading for design of customer building floor, ceiling cranes etc., Influence of environmental conditions on GIS structure designs etc.
• Self-review & peer review of documents.
• Delivery of designs on time with Quality and coordinating with the other team members and project lead engineer.
• Directly responsible for maintaining and updating the documentation for respective projects as per quality process.

Your Background

• Years of experience: 8 – 10 years with B.E/M.E. in Civil & Structural Engineering.
• Hand on experience in Structural engineering using STAAD. Pro, Idea-static, Ansys & Hilti Profits software's.
• Hand on experience in Tekla, Navisworks and other modelling software's.
• Familiarity with codes and applicable standards necessary for Structural Modelling & Detailing (American, European, Canadian etc.) is Mandatory.
• Team player with good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge tools like AUTOCAD, MS Office etc.
• Knowledge of Galvanization & painting procedures.
