Job summary

Ubifly Technologies in Chennai, India, seeks a senior Aerospace Stress Engineer to lead structural analyses, validate FEA models, and ensure airworthiness compliance. Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, or Structural Engineering.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in aerospace or defence structural analysis.
  • Expertise in composite and metallic material behaviour.
  • Proficiency in CAD/PLM systems like CATIA V5 or Enovia.
  • Deep familiarity with Hypermesh and LS-DYNA.
  • Exceptional technical writing and strong project management skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead advanced static, dynamic, fatigue, and damage tolerance analyses on primary and secondary structures.
  • Validate FEA models with hand calculations and ensure accuracy.
  • Author and review structural stress reports to meet aviation regulations (FAA/EASA).
  • Mentor junior stress engineers and guide multidisciplinary teams.
  • Support MRB dispositions and resolve manufacturing or service structural issues.
  • Develop testing plans and analyze data to confirm predictions.

Job description

A more than 10-year Aerospace Stress Engineer is a senior-level position responsible for leading structural analysis, validating finite element models, and ensuring compliance with airworthiness and certification standards. This role requires deep expertise in classical hand calculations, advanced fatigue, and damage tolerance (F&DT) methodologies for both metallic and composite aircraft structures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Structural Analysis:Perform advanced static, Joint analysis, dynamic, fatigue, and damage tolerance analyses on primary and secondary aerospace structures.
  • Methodology & Tools:stress evaluations utilizing Finite Element Analysis (FEA) software (e.g., Hypermest, Abaqus, NASTRAN/PATRAN) and validate models with classical hand calculations.
  • Certification Compliance:Author, review, and approve structural stress reports ensuring designs meet strict regulatory standards set by aviation authorities (e.g., FAA, EASA).
  • Project Leadership:Act as a subject matter expert (SME), guiding and mentoring junior stress engineers and multidisciplinary design teams.
  • Manufacturing Support:Review engineering drawings, support Material Review Board (MRB) dispositions, and provide solutions to manufacturing or in-service structural discrepancies.
  • Material Selection and Testing:Material Selection, Develop testing plans and analyse physical test data to validate structural integrity and confirm theoretical predictions

Qualifications & Requirements

Education:Bachelor's or Master's degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, or Structural Engineering.

Experience:10+ years of progressive experience in aerospace or defence structural analysis.

Technical Proficiencies:

- Expertise in composite and metallic material behaviour.

- Proficiency in CAD/PLM systems like CATIA V5 or Enovia.

- Deep familiarity with industry-specific toolkits (e.g., Hypermesh, Ls-Dyna).

Soft Skills:Exceptional technical writing capabilities, strong project management skills, and the ability to articulate complex structural concepts to stakeholders
