Job summary

S&P Global is seeking a senior Java developer in India to design, build, and support secure, scalable applications and REST services using Java and Spring Boot. The role involves deploying applications on AWS with Terraform and IaC, and maintaining strong security, logging, and observability practices.

You will collaborate across engineering, architecture, and product teams to ensure reliable, performant software with robust CI/CD pipelines and modern monitoring.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Implement application logging with Splunk and support observability.
• Provide production support and work with teams to improve reliability and performance.

About the Role:

The Team:

You will join a team of developers, architects, and product partners designing and supporting secure, scalable, and highly available applications and REST services. The work combines hands-on Java development with deploying and operating applications in AWS.

Responsibilities and Impact:

• Design, develop, test, and support secure, scalable, highly available applications and REST services using Java and Spring/Spring Boot
• Deploy and manage applications in AWS using Terraform and Infrastructure as Code principles
• Use GitHub and CI/CD pipelines for source control, automated builds, testing, and deployments
• Build security into the SDLC and drive remediation of vulnerabilities found by CodeQL, Dependabot, Wiz, and other tools
• Implement application logging with Splunk and support monitoring, troubleshooting, and observability
• Provide production support and collaborate with developers, architects, and product teams to continuously improve reliability and performance

What We’re Looking For:

Basic Required Qualifications:

• 9+ years of software development experience, with strong hands-on expertise in Java and Spring/Spring Boot
• Strong experience designing and developing RESTful services and APIs, with hands-on AWS development and deployment
• Experience with Terraform, GitHub, and CI/CD pipelines
• Strong understanding of application security (secure coding, authentication/authorization, vulnerability management) and experience with CodeQL, Dependabot, and Wiz
• Experience with Splunk for logging and troubleshooting, and an understanding of observability, monitoring, metrics, and alerting
• Collaborates effectively with developers, architects, product teams, and other stakeholders
• Strong troubleshooting skills for complex production issues

Additional Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
