EPAM Systems is seeking a Lead Software Engineer to shape the Camunda 8 target architecture and drive migrations from legacy BPM across multiple complexity levels. You will partner with teams and vendors to align process modeling, security patterns, integrations, and cutover execution.

Responsibilities include owning Camunda 8 target solution architecture, defining engineering standards, and leading tier-based migrations.

Qualifications

• 10–15 years of broad software engineering experience.
• Proven success delivering Camunda 8 in large-scale enterprise settings.
• Strong leadership and ability to present to client architecture boards.
• Hands-on leadership in migrating legacy BPM to Camunda with parallel-run cutover patterns.
• Deep knowledge of Camunda 8 components: Zeebe, Operate, Tasklist, Connectors.
• Practical BPMN 2.0, DMN/FEEL, and Camunda Forms expertise.

• Coordinate with third-party vendor for Camunda platform/infrastructure setup and integration points with REST APIs.

We are hiring a Lead Software Engineer to shape the Camunda 8 target architecture and lead migrations from legacy BPM at multiple complexity levels. You will partner with teams and vendors to align process modeling, security patterns, integrations, and cutover execution.

Responsibilities

• Own and define the Camunda 8 target solution architecture for scoped processes aligned to the Logical Data Model and ABAC/PBAC access control model
• Set and uphold Camunda engineering standards, quality metrics, and best practices across the Development POD
• Lead tier-based migration delivery across AI-assisted generation, draft-plus-manual redesign, and full REST-based redesign
• Create and validate parallel-run and cutover strategies per process including routing, shared integration layer, and decommission triggers
• Align application-layer and platform-layer design by coordinating with the third-party vendor responsible for Camunda platform and infrastructure setup
• Confirm integration points with existing REST APIs through the Integration Layer in partnership with the API team
• Lead the reference data migration approach for process definitions, DMN tables, forms, business dictionaries, and lookup tables
• Unblock and resolve technical dependencies across the Development POD, Solution Architecture, and the Service Store
• Assist UAT technical validation and defect resolution while contributing to runbooks and knowledge transfer to BPM Admins and IT Operations
• Support backlog sizing and complexity assessment using defined criteria such as steps, integrations, rules complexity, and data model complexity

Requirements

• Broad software engineering experience totaling 10-15 years
• Validated success delivering Camunda 8 in large-scale enterprise settings
• Strong people leadership skills with confidence presenting to client architecture boards
• Hands-on leadership experience migrating legacy BPM platforms to Camunda with parallel-run cutover patterns
• In-depth knowledge of Camunda 8 components including Zeebe, Operate, Tasklist, and Connectors
• Practical expertise in BPMN 2.0, DMN/FEEL, and Camunda Forms

Nice to have

• TIBCO BPM migration experience
• Experience with OIDC providers such as Microsoft Entra ID or Okta in Camunda contexts
• Working knowledge of Camunda deployment architecture including HA and PostgreSQL as secondary storage
