Job summary

EPAM Systems in India seeks a Lead Software Engineer to shape Camunda 8 target architecture and lead migrations from legacy BPM across multiple complexity levels. You will partner with teams and vendors to align modeling, security patterns, integrations, and cutover execution.

The role demands hands-on leadership, deep Camunda 8 knowledge (Zeebe, Operate, Tasklist, Connectors) and proven delivery of large-scale enterprise BPM programs. You will drive architecture reviews and UAT support.

Qualifications

• Broad software engineering experience totaling 10-15 years.
• Validated success delivering Camunda 8 in large-scale enterprise settings
• Strong people leadership skills with confidence presenting to client architecture boards
• Hands-on leadership experience migrating legacy BPM platforms to Camunda with parallel-run cutover patterns
• In-depth knowledge of Camunda 8 components including Zeebe, Operate, Tasklist, and Connectors
• Practical expertise in BPMN 2.0, DMN/FEEL, and Camunda Forms

Responsibilities

• Own and define the Camunda 8 target solution architecture for scoped processes aligned to the Logical Data Model and ABAC/PBAC access control model
• Set and uphold Camunda engineering standards, quality metrics, and best practices across the Development POD
• Lead tier-based migration delivery across AI-assisted generation, draft-plus-manual redesign, and full REST-based redesign
• Create and validate parallel-run and cutover strategies per process including routing, shared integration layer, and decommission triggers
• Align application-layer and platform-layer design by coordinating with the third-party vendor responsible for Camunda platform and infrastructure setup
• Confirm integration points with existing REST APIs through the Integration Layer in partnership with the API team
• Lead the reference data migration approach for process definitions, DMN tables, forms, business dictionaries, and lookup tables
• Unblock and resolve technical dependencies across the Development POD, Solution Architecture, and the Service Store
• Assist UAT technical validation and defect resolution while contributing to runbooks and knowledge transfer to BPM Admins and IT Operations
• Support backlog sizing and complexity assessment using defined criteria such as steps, integrations, rules complexity, and data model complexity
