Job summary

TVS Motor Company seeks a Lead Software Engineer (Software) to drive architecture, design, development and delivery of Bluetooth and connected infotainment software for TVS connected vehicle platforms. You will lead a team of engineers, mentor talent, and align technical work with product strategy and safety requirements.

Ideal candidate has strong C++14/17, embedded C, Linux/Android expertise, and hands-on Bluetooth development experience.

Qualifications

• Experience in connectivity domains within automotive infotainment, connected vehicle, Android Auto or Apple CarPlay.
• 10–12 years of software development with strong C++14/17 and solid C/Java/Kotlin skills; scripting a plus.
• Minimum 4 years of experience leading or mentoring a software team.
• Experience in Linux platform development, Android platform development and mobile app integration; knowledge of Android/iOS concepts.
• Experience with Bluetooth architecture, protocols, debugging using HCI and OTA logs; Wifi/NFC a plus.

Job Title / Role: Lead software Engineer (Software)

Job Purpose

The Lead Software Engineer will be responsible for driving the architecture, design, development, and delivery of Bluetooth and connected infotainment software solutions for current and next-generation TVS Motor connected vehicle platforms. The role requires strong technical expertise in Bluetooth technologies, embedded software development, and modern C++ programming, combined with proven leadership capabilities to guide a team of engineers in delivering high-quality, scalable, and secure software products.

The candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams including system architects, product management, mobile application teams, validation teams, and external technology partners to define and execute the roadmap for connected infotainment units across TVS Motor product lines. The role also involves mentoring engineers, driving technical excellence, and ensuring successful execution of software programs aligned with business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead a software development team in the design, development, integration, and maintenance of BlueTooth application for connected infotainment systems based on Linux and Android platforms.
• Lead a software development team in the design, development, integration, and maintenance of Smartwatch application based on android and iOS platforms.
• Define and drive the technical roadmap for current and future connected infotainment systems, ensuring alignment with product strategy, customer requirements, and emerging industry trends.
• Architecture design and develop of robust software components using Modern C++ (C++14/C++17 and above) and C for embedded system applications.
• Own the design and implementation of Bluetooth features including device management, pairing/bonding, profile integration, connectivity management, protocol handling, performance optimization, and troubleshooting.
• Work closely with system architects and product teams to translate business requirements into scalable software architectures and technical solutions.
• Drive software quality through code reviews, design reviews, static analysis, unit testing, integration testing, and adherence to software engineering best practices.
• Mentor and technically guide team members, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
• Coordinate with validation, integration, and partner teams to ensure seamless software integration across vehicle, mobile, and cloud ecosystems.
• Analyze complex field and customer issues, drive root-cause analysis, and implement effective corrective actions.
• Contribute to technology evaluations, proof‑of‑concepts, and strategic decisions related to infotainment, connectivity, Bluetooth, mobile integration, and software platform evolution.
• Participate in release planning, risk assessment, effort estimation, and project execution to ensure on-time delivery of program milestones.
• Collaborate with Android, iOS, and cloud application teams to enable end-to-end connected experiences and feature enhancements.
• Stay current with advancements in Bluetooth standards, connected vehicle technologies, infotainment systems, mobile ecosystems, and automotive software development practices.
• Product Precertification, Certification in BT SIG and ensuring product compliance with regulatory bodies.
• Evaluating right Bluetooth ICs, Sourcing, defining strategy for the upcoming products.

Education

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Embedded Systems, or related discipline.

Experience

Required Qualification:

• Prior experience in connectivity domain including Automotive Infotainment, Connected Vehicle, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay.
• 10 to 12 years of software development experience with strong expertise in C++14/C++17 and solid programming experience in C, Java, Kotlin, KMP. Knowing scripting is a plus.
• Minimum 4 years of experience leading or mentoring a software engineering team.
• Prior experience in Linux Platform development, Android platform development, and mobile application integration. Good understanding of android and iOS application development. Understanding of Linux, Andoid and iOS OS concepts.
• Experience with communication protocols, wireless technologies, and connected device ecosystems. Strong understanding of Bluetooth architecture, protocols, profiles, debugging using HCI and OTA logs. Wifi, NFC experience is a plus.
• Experience working with embedded systems and software development on baremetal and RTOS environments like FreeRTOS, Zephyr RTOS.
• Proven experience in software architecture, design patterns, debugging, performance optimization, and system-level problem solving.
• Familiarity with Agile development methodologies and CI/CD practices.
• Experience collaborating with global technology partners, suppliers, and cross-functional engineering teams.
• Understanding of cybersecurity, secure communications, and software update mechanisms in connected products.
• Work experience in Cerifying and Listing in BT SIG.
