Cadence is seeking a highly skilled engineer to join the finite element software development team in Pune, India. The role focuses on research, design, and implementation of nonlinear FEM algorithms and subroutines for leading FEA products like MSC Nastran and Marc.
You will contribute to development, testing, and optimization of both implicit and explicit nonlinear analyses, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software solutions.

PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering and Aerospace Engineering or related field
Experience in the development and implementation of finite element analysis (FEA) software, user subroutines for commercial FEA packages, and numerical material models is highly desirable.
Proficiency in Fortran, C/C++, Python, and scripting languages is preferred.
Experience with MSC Nastran, Marc, or other commercial finite element analysis software is preferred.
Experience in the research and development of nonlinear solid mechanics analysis, including geometric nonlinearity, contact mechanics, and nonlinear material behavior, is preferred.
Ability to develop, evaluate, review, and maintain engineering software code; perform quality assurance (QA), benchmarking, and validation; and apply sound engineering judgment.
Experience with software regression testing and QA processes is preferred.
Ability to create clear and professional design documentation using tools such as Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel.
Knowledge of Finite Element Methods (FEM), including both implicit and explicit nonlinear analysis technologies.
Familiarity with commercial FEA software packages such as MSC Nastran, Marc, or similar products.
Experience in the development and implementation of finite element analysis software, user subroutines, and numerical material models.
Experience with commercial FEA software, including MSC Nastran, Marc, or equivalent packages.
Experience in the research and development of nonlinear analysis involving geometric nonlinearity, contact mechanics, and nonlinear material behavior.
Proficiency in Python and other scripting languages for software development and automation.
