Job summary

Fidelity in Chennai is seeking a Lead - Software Engineering to architect and deliver test automation solutions for ETL testing in highly available systems. You will work with engineers and business stakeholders to translate complex requirements into scalable QA solutions. Design and maintain automated tests, apply BDD/TDD, ensure quality across data pipelines, and mentor QE team while driving CI/CD with Jenkins, AWS, and Docker.

Location: Chennai. Shift times: 11:00 AM - 8:00 PM.

Qualifications

• 5-7 years of experience predominantly in software test/Quality Engineering.
• Bachelor's/Master's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or other related field.
• Deep expertise in ETL testing.
• Hands-on Software Development in Test experience with Java/Python (5+ years).
• 5+ years of automation scripting experience (not record and playback).
• Good understanding of BDD, CI/CD and DevOps concepts.
• Experience in PL/SQL and ETL testing; knowledge of data pipelines and data validation.
• Experience with ETL automation tools like Informatica; proficiency in testing reports with OBIEE/Tableau.
• Jenkins CI/CD pipelines; Docker experience; AWS/Azure certifications a plus.

Job Title : Lead - Software Engineering

The Purpose of This Role

As a Lead Software Engineer, you will focus on building test automation solutions for ETL testing for highly available systems. You will be working directly with other Software Developers, Architects and business stakeholders to translate vision and designs into sustainable business solutions. You will be responsible for the development of test automation solution for complex software applications, ensuring they are built with quality, consistency to our standards, performance and responsive to the device accessing the application.

This Lead QA Engineer will play a key role within Fidelity's Workplace Investments Stock Plan Services QE team. The individual will work closely with the Systems analysts, Architects, Developers and other QE resources to design, build and deliver complete Quality Engineering lifecycle that make up Fidelity's experience.

Responsibilities of the role includes

• Translating business and systems requirements into test strategy, Test scenarios and test plans
• Designing, developing, documenting, and maintaining automated tests and tools
• Adhering to Quality Engineering Practices in development of automation scripts
• Understand and apply BDD / TDD design concepts to test software solutions.
• Adhere to industry standard best practices in Quality Engineering
• Delivering accurate and maintainable code for automation and software utilities.
• Measure and Report key QA metrics
• Collaborating with other technical resources to:
  • Suggest improvements for processes, best practices, and standards.
  • Identify opportunities to improve maintainability of automation platform.

Technical skills

• Bachelor's/Master's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or other related field
• Deep expertise in ETL testing
• Hands-on Software Development in Test experience, which includes any of the following: 5+ years of using Object Oriented Languages like Java/Python.
• 5+ years of automation scripting experience (not record and playback)
• Good understanding of BDD, CI-CD and DevOps concepts is mandatory.
• Expertise in following is required:
  • PL/SQL
  • Experience in writing complex PL\SQL queries
  • Experience in ETL testing
  • Define ETL testing process and validate business rules and policies to data and transformations including all data pipelines
  • Proficient in database testing
  • Experience in report validation using tools like OBIEE, Tableau,etc
  • Strong knowledge in Java or Python programming
  • Good experience in any ETL Automation validation tools like Informatica, etc
  • Jenkins (CI/CD Pipelines)
• Experience in the following is a strong plus:
  • Docker
  • AWS/Azure certification
• Understanding and working experience of Non-functional testing is preferred

The Expertise We're Looking For
