Job summary

Allegis Global Solutions (AGS) is seeking a senior Java engineer in Bengaluru to design and deliver complex back-end systems. You will work with Spring Boot, JPA, and modern architectures, ensuring clean code and scalable services across domains.

The role emphasizes performance optimization, evolutionary maintenance versus greenfield work, and collaboration with DevOps to implement robust CI/CD pipelines and well-architected hosting environments. Kubernetes and cloud familiarity are preferred.

Qualifications

• At least 6-7 years of relevant software development experience.
• Hands-on with Java SDKs (versions 17, 21 or 25).
• Strong Spring Boot experience (recent versions) with JPA, web, batch.
• Familiar with Clean Architecture, CQRS and Hexagonal Architecture concepts.
• Ability to clearly articulate performance improvements and optimizations.
• Experience distinguishing evolutionary maintenance from greenfield projects.
• Basic Ops knowledge including CI/CD and hosting environments.
• Nice-to-have Kubernetes, load balancing and cloud exposure (Azure/AWS).
• Keeps up with modern tech trends and patterns.

Job description

• We are looking for a highly experienced candidate, ideally with at least 6-7 years of relevant experience.
• The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience with recent Java SDKs (versions 17, 21, or 25).
• Strong expertise in Spring Boot (recent versions) is required. (JPA, web, batch...)
• We are seeking someone with a strong craft-oriented mindset, who can demonstrate familiarity with concepts such as Clean Architecture, CQRS, and Hexagonal Architecture...
• While many CVs mention performance improvements, we expect candidates to clearly articulate the specific performance challenges they faced and the solutions they implemented.
• It is important to distinguish between candidates who have primarily worked on evolutionary maintenance and those who have developed projects from scratch (we are looking for this kind of candidates).
• The candidate should have at least basic knowledge of Ops topics, including CI/CD (using Jenkins, Azure Pipelines, or GitHub Actions) and a good understanding of the hosting environments for the applications they have worked on.
• As a nice-to-have, we value experience with Kubernetes, load balancing, and cloud providers such as Azure or AWS.
• We are also looking for someone who actively keeps up with technology trends. If the candidate has only worked with outdated framework versions and does not mention any recent technical patterns or practices, this is a concern.
