Job Title: Lead Site Reliability Engineering (SRE Operations Manager)
Experience:10+ years in SRE / production operations, with at least 6 years leading a team
Domain: Payments, wallets, or FinTech (mandatory)
Employment: Full-time (replacement for current SRE Lead)
Qualification: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering or a related field

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced SRE Lead to own production operations for our payments and wallet platform. The role leads the SRE/DevOps team, manages incidents end to end and keeps our systems reliable for customers and partners. The ideal candidate has strong production debugging skills and understands the full system. They can find the real failure point and root cause, and give development teams clear, evidence-based inputs rather than simply escalating.

Must-Have Skills

1. Lead-level SRE experience on Microsoft Azure and Linux
2. Azure CI/CD (Azure DevOps pipelines) and production deployments
3. SigNoz or any observability platform (for example Grafana, Prometheus, ELK, Datadog or Dynatrace), covering logs, metrics, traces, dashboards and alerts
4. Production operations experience in payments, wallets or FinTech systems

Key Responsibilities

Leadership and operations management

• Own day-to-day production operations and lead the SRE/DevOps team
• Plan on-call rotations and shift coverage, and make sure support is in place around the clock
• Define and track SLAs, SLOs and uptime for critical payment and wallet services
• Run incident management, change management and post-incident reviews
• Report operational health, incidents and risks to management on a regular basis

Production support and RCA

• Monitor and troubleshoot production applications, APIs, integrations and infrastructure
• Debug end to end using logs, metrics, traces and dashboards
• Investigate transaction failures, payment and wallet issues, bank and third-party integration failures, and data mismatches
• Lead the RCA for incidents and recurring issues, and drive the preventive actions
• Give development teams clear findings on where an issue occurred, why it occurred and where the fix is needed

Customer and stakeholder communication

• Handle customer-facing incidents and provide timely updates to customers, partners and internal teams
• Coordinate across development, QA, infrastructure and business teams until resolution

Observability and automation

• Manage and improve SigNoz dashboards, alerts and observability coverage
• Use AI tools and MCP integrations (SigNoz MCP, Azure MCP, MongoDB MCP) to speed up investigation and reporting
• Automate repetitive operational tasks and health checks

Technical Awareness

The candidate should have working knowledge of: Java / Spring Boot, Azure (AKS, Application Gateway, Ingress), Keycloak, Kafka, MongoDB Atlas, Redis, PostgreSQL, Strapi CMS, SMS gateways, Terraform, REST APIs and third-party integrations.

Good to Have

• Awareness of PCI DSS, RBI guidelines and security and compliance requirements for payment systems
• Experience with high-volume transaction systems and handling peak loads
• Experience with OpenTelemetry and distributed tracing

Key Expectation

The SRE Lead owns production reliability. They understand the system, trace each issue across components, find the actual root cause, lead the team through incidents and keep stakeholders informed until resolution.
