Lead Security Specialist (WAF, F5 BIG IP and Zscaler Proxy and Cloud Security)

An F5 BIG-IP and Proxy role involves designing, deploying, and managing application delivery & security using F5 load balancers (LTM, GTM, ASM) and proxy solutions (BlueCoat, Zscaler), focusing on traffic management, SSL offloading, health monitoring, persistence, and implementing security policies (like WAF) for high availability and performance, often integrating with cloud environments and scripting for automation (Python, Ansible).

Job Responsibilities

• Should have strong hands‑on experience on F5 BIG IP and Zscaler Proxy and Cloud Native Security services (AWS WAF and Shield / Cloud Armor).
• Deploy, configure, and manage F5 BIG IP (16.1.x or higher), including policy creation, rule/object definition, optimization and upgrade.
• Threat Prevention, IPS, and identity awareness.
• Signature management and false‑positive handling.
• Bot protection, DoS mitigation, and application security tuning.
• Manage, configure, and tune F5 Web Application Firewall (ASM / Advanced WAF), including policy creation, tuning, and learning mode.
• Deep understanding of TCP/IP, SSL/TLS, HTTP/HTTPS, DNS, and layer‑7 inspection.
• Experience with reverse proxying and load balancing concepts.
• Strong troubleshooting skills using packet captures (tcpdump, Wireshark) and F5/Proxy logs.
• Hands‑on experience on SIEM and threat intelligence.
• Responsible for incident, problems, service request and change tasks assigned to support queue in ServiceNow ticketing application.
• Good knowledge of AWS/GCP Cloud Security services (AWS WAF and Shield / GCP Cloud Armor).

Nice‑to‑Have

• Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Solution Architect, Google Cloud Solution Architect, F5 101 or 201, Zscaler Administrator or equivalent).
• Experience in the banking industry is a plus.
