Job summary

HDFC Bank Limited invites applications for leading audits of Retail branches and operations units. The role covers audit execution, reporting, and compliance with RBI guidelines. You will allocate work, guide auditors, and present findings to Senior Management.

Qualifications

• Graduation, Post-Graduation, and Professional Qualification preferred.
• Domain knowledge in bank audit / Retail branch / operations unit audits.
• Audit methodologies, techniques, and standards proficiency required.
• Strong analytical skills to analyze data, identify trends and assess controls.
• Excellent written and verbal communication for audit reporting and discussions.
• Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is essential.
• Leadership skills including people management and problem solving.
• Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Audit execution including pre-audit prep and sampling.
• Allocate audit areas to auditors based on expertise and mandays.
• Conduct audits per RBI guidelines and internal policies.
• Prepare audit reports with findings, risks, recommendations and action plans.
• Conduct risk grading and form opinions; finalize and close audits.
• Communicate results to Senior Management highlighting concerns and improvements.
• Monitor and follow up with auditee management for issue resolution.
• Validate closing evidence and supervise the audit team.

Job Purpose:

To lead the audits of Retail branches / operations units of the bank

Key Responsibility Areas

Actionable

Audit execution

• Review pre-audit preparation and sampling.
• Allocation of audit areas to the auditors based on expertise and mandays available.
• Carry out audit of various areas / activities / departments as per the RBI guidelines / internal policies.

Audit reporting

• Prepare audit reports detailing findings, risks, recommendations, and Management action plans.
• Risk grading and opinion formation.
• Audit finalization, discussion, and closure (including visits to branches / units).
• Effectively communicate audit results to key stakeholders including Senior Management, highlighting areas of concern and opportunities for improvement.

Compliance

• Monitoring and follow up with auditee Management for audit issues resolution.
• Validate evidence submitted for closure of audit issues.

Team management

• Manage and supervise the team of auditors.
