About the Role
We are looking for a Commodity Lead – Truck & Bus Body to drive field quality, warranty analysis, root-cause identification, and corrective actions for LCV, Bus and EV Bus applications.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze warranty-returned parts and field complaints related to Cabin, Shell Structures and Bus Body assemblies.
- Conduct detailed failure analysis of doors, locks, windows, seats, trims, panels, roof/floor structures and body components.
- Investigate issues including water leakage, NVH, fitment concerns, structural cracks, welding defects and corrosion.
- Identify root causes across design, manufacturing/process, supplier quality, fitment and service/handling.
- Coordinate with R&D, Production, Quality Engineering, Supplier Quality, Purchase and Service teams for issue resolution.
- Support joint field investigations with Service teams and drive timely closure of field-quality issues.
- Prepare technical analysis reports highlighting root cause, corrective actions and preventive measures.
- Track warranty trends, failure-analysis data and action status.
- Coordinate with suppliers for warranty debit recovery wherever supplier defects are established.
- Participate in warranty review meetings and present technical findings.
- Supervise warranty material movement and disposal based on final analysis decisions.
Required Skills
- Strong understanding of Truck Cabin & Bus Body assembly and body-building processes.
- Knowledge of sheet-metal fabrication, welding, body fitment and structural assemblies.
- Hands-on understanding of failure modes such as weld cracks, corrosion, water leakage, fitment mismatch, paint peeling, noise and vibration.
- Familiarity with Vernier caliper, height gauge, feeler gauge, gap & flush gauges and torque tools.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, body layouts and assembly standards.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, troubleshooting and technical reporting skills.
- Basic knowledge of paint quality and welding inspection will be an advantage.
Preferred Background
Candidates with experience in Supplier Quality, Field Quality, Warranty or Failure Analysis, particularly in Truck Cabin and Bus Body systems, will be preferred.
