LSEG Bengaluru is seeking a Lead QA Engineer within Content & Feeds Technology to drive testing across a scrum team, including functional, non-functional, and data validation.

You will set testing strategy, mentor junior staff, lead test automation, and coordinate with Solution Architect and BA on non-functional requirements. The role offers exposure to AI-driven testing practices and a chance to shape quality across multiple data-intensive platforms.

ROLE SUMMARY:

An opportunity exists within LSEG, Bengaluru for a Lead QA Engineer role within Content & Feeds Technology.

Join a highly collaborative, multi-functional, software QA team responsible for functional testing, performance testing and data validation across a variety of technologies.

This role will work as part of a scrum team and may own the integration testing across multiple scrum teams!

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

Leads all aspects of technical implementation of quality control, testing and analysis, providing guidance where issues arise

Set project testing strategy/test plan: test environment, automation, performance, test data management, testing tools etc.

Reviews and approves test plans and scripts to ensure alignment with standards and technology strategy

Lead functional/non-functional testing and end to end integration.

Set clear automation goal and drive automation implementation

Collaborate with Solution Architect, BA for the Non-functional requirements and set the performance testing plan

Follow best practices, QA methodologies and processes, working across critical stages of the product lifecycle from define to build

Understand the business use cases and carry out testing to ensure top quality of delivered solutions

Understand and analyse the Requirement Specifications and design test scenarios

Review and analyse completeness of test coverage

Carry out Functional testing and non-functional testing

Solve technical issues and challenges in testing work

Implement Test Scripts, Defect tracking in applicable tool, Status Reporting, Defect Reporting

Drive continuous improvement from quality perspective

Responsible for communicating the status of ongoing work to stakeholders accurately

Provide mentoring to junior staff (Associate Engineer, Engineer and Senior Engineer) as needed.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING:

• 9+ years 'experience in Software QA or Development Engineer role
• Proven ability to drive and implement test strategies/test plan, including automation, performance, E2E integration, test environment.
• In-depth knowledge of Software QA methodologies and experience of agile testing
• Strong background with test automation.

TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES

QA Methodologies & Test Strategy

• - Strong understanding of QA principles, Shift-Left testing, and risk-based testing approaches.
• - Proven track record leading QA activities within Agile/Scrum environments.
• - Ability to define and execute end-to-end test strategies covering functional, integration, system, and regression testing.
• - Expertise in requirement analysis, test planning, defect prevention, and quality governance.

Automation

• - Strong programming skills in Python/Java with solid understanding of OOP concepts and design patterns.
• - Experience building, enhancing, and maintaining scalable test automation frameworks from scratch.
• - Ability to automate data validation, API testing, and ETL testing workflows using Python.
• - Experience integrating automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines for continuous quality validation.

ETL & Data/ SQL Testing

• - Expertise in verifying data accuracy, completeness, consistency, and integrity across multiple systems.
• - Ability to analyse large datasets and identify data anomalies, gaps, and performance bottlenecks.
• - Hands-on experience validating data in Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Snowflake, or other enterprise databases.
• - Experience validating integrations across enterprise applications, ETL platforms, and data services.

Tools & Quality Management

• - Expert in defect management, test execution, and reporting using Jira.
• - Experience documenting QA processes, automation frameworks, and test strategies using Confluence.
• - Proficient in test case management and test metrics reporting using TestRail or equivalent tools.
• - Skilled in root cause analysis, defect triage, and quality metrics tracking.

DevOps, CI/CD & Cloud

• - Strong understanding of Git workflows, branching strategies, and pull request reviews.
• - Experience integrating test automation into Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, or similar CI/CD platforms.
• - Knowledge of testing applications and data platforms hosted on Azure.

AI & Copilot-Driven Testing

• - Openness to adopting AI-driven development practices to enhance productivity and delivery excellence.
• - Experience leveraging Microsoft Copilot for test case design, test data creation, and requirement analysis.
• - Proficient in using Copilot to accelerate Python automation, SQL query development, and ETL/data validation testing.
• - Ability to integrate AI-powered testing practices to improve productivity, test coverage, and overall quality outcomes.
