Lead Software Engineer
Responsibilities
- Work with a diverse engineering organization and contribute to building engineering capabilities across Software and Platform Engineering.
- Develop full‑stack solutions that are highly scalable and distributed, delivering positive user experiences and measurable business growth.
- Implement and support modern digital products that are technologically sound, avoid technical debt, ensure compliance, and meet business outcomes.
- Shape Horizon software developer patterns, leveraging infrastructure as code and providing an opinionated view that accelerates developer onboarding across the enterprise.
- Define the testing strategy for projects and implement automated testing frameworks covering various types of testing.
- Assess risks early in product discovery, considering time constraints, available skills, technologies, and potential technical debt to ensure the team builds only what is truly valuable.
- Use modern product approaches, including rapid prototyping and “show them, don’t tell them” culture, to influence and shape business through partnership with product management and digital product delivery.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology or Computer Science.
- 10+ years of experience working with modern application architecture methodologies.
- 5+ years of experience with Cloud Native design patterns, preferably on Microsoft Azure or Google Cloud.
- 8+ years of experience designing and delivering digital solutions following a product‑mindset across multiple delivery methodologies (e.g., Agile, CCPM).
- 5+ years of experience within a “DevSecOps” culture, covering Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery, Test‑Driven Development, and related practices.
- Familiarity or experience with Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform).
- Operational experience supporting and iterating on custom built applications.
- Proficiency in TypeScript, React, and/or Node.js.
- Passion for simplicity and great developer experience.
- Experience scaling an API‑Ecosystem and implementing API‑First integration patterns.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience defining and implementing large‑scale, transformative digital solutions.
- Experience working in complex, diverse landscapes (business, technology, regulatory, partners, providers, geographies).
- Experience with software deployment capabilities including Kubernetes.
- Experience in a Platform Engineering team.
