Job description

Comprehensive knowledge of Open Source CMS platforms including WordPress, Joomla, Moodle and the ability to implement complex sites and create custom components, modules, and plugins as necessary.

Create PHP applications focused on web security and performance at scale.

Create solutions for the backend systems to support millions of users.

Collaborate with people in other disciplines for the production and delivery of project deliverables.

Understanding differences between multiple delivery platforms (such as mobile vs desktop), and optimizing output to match the specific platform.

Experience in client-side scripting and JavaScript frameworks, including jQuery.

Experience in asynchronous request handling, partial page updates, AJAX, cross-browser compatibility issues, and ways to work around them.

Write well-designed, testable, efficient code by using the best software development practices.

Demonstrable knowledge of XML, XHTML, CSS, Modules i.e. API integration, Payment Gateways, XML with a focus on standards.

Prepare reports, manuals and other documentation on the status, operation and maintenance of product.

Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Requirements

• Must have 4-8 years of experience in developing web applications using PHP technologies.
• Bachelors or Master's degree in a related field preferred.
• Experience developing using a Javascript framework, such as jQuery.
• Experience developing in LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP) environment. Strong Knowledge of Joomla 2.5/3.x and WordPress is a must.
• Experience with Bootstrap, JSON, JQuery, HTML5, and Web Services (SOAP, Restful). Deep expertise and extensive experience with modern HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and JQuery.
• Understanding of MVC design patterns and frameworks.
• Working knowledge in AngularJS and NodeJS is an added Advantage.
• Strong knowledge of MySQL database, database query optimization, version control tools, and developing web services.
• Expert knowledge of Search Engine Optimization processes and best practices.
• Strong understanding of UI, cross-browser compatibility, general web functions, and standards.
• Experience with agile development methodologies including Kanban and Scrum.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, open office environment.
• Maintains a high level of time-sensitive work prioritization, accuracy, organizational, and communication skills.
• Experience with Atlassian tools such as Confluence and JIRA.
• The ability to work independently and thrive in a highly ambiguous Environment is a must for this role.
