UST is seeking a seasoned Java Cloud Lead in Trivandrum to design and deliver enterprise-grade backend solutions. You will lead a 10–15 member team, architect cloud-native systems on Google Cloud Platform, and drive RESTful APIs, microservices, and secure SDLC practices.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years in Java/J2EE, strong Spring ecosystem expertise, and hands-on cloud experience with GCP (AWS/Azure is a plus). This role emphasizes leadership, architecture, and scalable performance.

Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Java Lead with 10+ years of expertise in designing, developing, and delivering enterprise-grade backend applications using Java technologies. The ideal candidate should have strong experience in Java, Spring Boot, Microservices, GCP, and SQL, with proven leadership capabilities in delivering scalable, cloud-native solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop enterprise solutions using Java/J2EE following multi-tier architecture principles.
• Develop scalable applications using Spring, Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, and Hibernate.
• Build and maintain cloud-native applications on Google Cloud Platform (GCP). Experience with AWS or Azure is an added advantage.
• Design and implement RESTful APIs, Web Services, and Microservices with knowledge of API Management Gateways.
• Develop and optimize database solutions using Oracle, MySQL, or PostgreSQL. Knowledge of NoSQL databases is desirable.
• Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, Git, Maven, Gradle, Nexus, SONAR, and Rundeck.
• Ensure security best practices throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), including secure coding standards.
• Analyze user stories, provide effort estimates, and ensure timely delivery of project milestones.
• Lead a team of 10–15 developers in designing, developing, deploying, and supporting enterprise applications.
• Mentor team members by providing technical guidance, code reviews, and troubleshooting support.
• Participate throughout the project lifecycle, from requirement analysis to production support.
• Collaborate effectively in Agile and Scaled Agile development environments.
• Quickly adapt to emerging technologies and contribute to digital transformation initiatives.

Required Skills

• 10+ years of hands‑on experience in Java/J2EE development.
• Strong expertise in Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, Hibernate, and Microservices.
• Hands‑on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Strong SQL skills with experience in Oracle, MySQL, or PostgreSQL.
• Experience with cloud-native architecture and distributed systems.
• Good understanding of REST APIs, Web Services, and API Gateways.
• Experience with CI/CD tools including Jenkins, Git, Maven, Gradle, SONAR, Nexus, and Rundeck.
• Knowledge of secure coding practices and SDLC security principles.
• Experience leading development teams of 10–15 members.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
• Experience working in Agile/Scaled Agile development environments.
