Job summary

Plum Benefits Private Limited is seeking a product pricing specialist to own the Employee Benefits pricing engine and raters. You will influence how we price, what we sell, and how we win in the Indian market.

You'll collaborate with insurers and cross-functional teams to design pricing constructs, refine offerings, and launch new features. The role suits someone who enjoys building from first principles, has strong analytical skills, and thrives in a fast-growing insurtech environment.

Qualifications

• 0–3 years of experience, preferably in insurance, consulting, analytics, operations, or early‑stage startups.
• Strong problem‑solving skills with the ability to break down ambiguous problems into practical, scalable solutions.
• Analytical mindset with comfort working on pricing, data, business metrics, and structured decision‑making.
• High ownership and execution mindset — someone who enjoys building from scratch and driving outcomes.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate across cross‑functional teams and external partners.
• Curious, adaptable, and eager to learn how insurance products are built, priced, and continuously improved.

Responsibilities

• Own Plum’s core Employee Benefits (EB) product raters end-to-end — the engine that drives how we price and win in the market.
• Design and refine pricing, benefits, and revenue constructs to create best-in‑class offerings across customer segments.
• Continuously recalibrate raters based on insurer pricing, claims experience, and evolving market dynamics.
• Partner closely with Tier 1 insurers to ensure every quote is both competitive and operationally executable.
• Establish pricing best practices and continuously raise the bar for product competitiveness.
• Build strong feedback loops with Sales and Marketing to identify product gaps, customer pain points, and market opportunities.
• Translate ambiguous market signals into structured product opportunities, clear problem statements, and actionable product briefs.
• Own 0→1 product development, from problem definition and product design to pricing strategy, insurer alignment, and first customer placements.
• Simplify product structures, improve coverage clarity, and ensure alignment across product design, pricing, and delivery.
• Collaborate with insurers and internal teams to streamline policy issuance workflows and improve the customer experience.

What You’ll Do
