UST in Kerala is seeking a Lead I - Software Engineering (POD Lead) to guide a high-performing engineering pod and deliver scalable, enterprise-grade digital solutions.
You will champion AI-first development, mentor engineers, drive adoption of GenAI tools, and ensure delivery quality across frontend, backend, cloud, and DevOps.
The role requires 8+ years in software engineering, 2+ years in a leadership role, and strong stakeholder management within an agile SDLC.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 8+ years of software engineering experience with strong full-stack development expertise.
- Minimum 2+ years of experience as a Technical Lead, Engineering Lead, or similar leadership role.
- Proven experience managing and mentoring small engineering teams, squads, or pods.
- Strong experience designing, developing, and delivering enterprise-grade applications.
- Demonstrated success in adopting and integrating AI technologies within software delivery and engineering processes.
- Passion for championing AI-first development practices and fostering a culture of innovation.
- Hands‑on expertise across frontend technologies, backend services, APIs, databases, cloud platforms, and DevOps practices.
- Strong understanding of Agile methodologies, software engineering best practices, and modern SDLC processes.
- Excellent stakeholder management, communication, problem‑solving, and decision‑making skills.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage an engineering pod, ensuring successful delivery of high-quality features, products, and customer solutions.
- Drive the adoption of AI-first engineering practices by leveraging GenAI, coding assistants, autonomous testing, AI-enabled SDLC tools, and agentic workflows to enhance productivity and quality.
- Identify and implement opportunities to automate development, testing, deployment, documentation, monitoring, and operational processes using AI and intelligent automation.
- Promote and establish AI-powered engineering frameworks, best practices, and delivery standards across the pod.
- Measure, track, and continuously improve AI-assisted productivity, engineering efficiency, and delivery outcomes.
- Own end-to-end delivery accountability, from requirements and design through development, deployment, and post-production support.
- Collaborate with product owners, architects, and stakeholders to define priorities, roadmaps, and delivery commitments aligned to business objectives.
- Plan, prioritize, and monitor sprint deliverables while ensuring adherence to quality, security, and performance standards.
- Provide technical leadership through architecture reviews, design guidance, code reviews, and engineering mentorship.
- Foster a culture of accountability, transparency, collaboration, continuous improvement, and execution excellence within the pod.
- Support the professional growth and development of pod members through coaching, mentoring, and knowledge sharing.
- Drive continuous innovation by evaluating and adopting emerging technologies, AI capabilities, and engineering best practices that improve customer and business outcomes.
