Job summary

Embitel Technologies in India seeks an experienced hardware/embedded engineer specializing in EV battery systems and BMS to design, analyze and test high‑voltage systems. You will work on CMC, PDU hardware, and diagnostics, and contribute to safety and reliability efforts in ISO 26262 contexts.

Role involves HW/SW integration, DFMEA, lab bring‑up, and supporting vehicle validation with a focus on 400V/800V architectures and advanced battery protection algorithms.

Qualifications

• Experience in EV battery systems and BMS development.
• Familiar with CMC, PDU hardware, HV architectures (400V/800V), and battery protection algorithms.
• Knowledge of SOC/SOH/SOP, balancing, and diagnostics.
• Experience with DFMEA, ISO 26262, safety concepts, and reliability analysis.
• Hands-on lab bring-up, hardware testing, and failure analysis.
• Proficiency with MATLAB/Simulink and system engineering.
• Experience with CAN, CAN FD, UDS diagnostics, and CANoe/CANalyzer.

Responsibilities

• Define HV-BMS hardware requirements, architecture and specifications.
• Prepare HW test plans and perform testing on samples/DUTs.
• Lead supplier and cross-functional technical reviews.
• Work on PDU architecture including contactors, fuses and current sensors.
• Perform worst-case analysis and DFMEA; safety and reliability assessments.
• Support vehicle validation and root-cause analysis.

Experience in EV battery systems, BMS, CMC or PDU HW development. Experience of BMS AFE, MCU, power supply, isolation, sensing, protection, contactor-driver, and communication circuits EMC/ESD/transient design, isolated daisy-chain, and diagnostics Understand and analyses the customer RFI/RFQ documents and HW requirements. Define HV-BMS hardware requirements, architecture and specifications. Expertise in schematic design, component selections, circuit design, simulation, layout review and guidelines etc. HW test plan preparation and testing of sample/DUT. Expertise worst case analysis, DFMEA, Dfm, and reliability analysis. Strong expertise in lithium-ion battery packs and HV architectures (400V/800V). Deep understanding of SOC, SOH, SOP, balancing and battery protection algorithms. Experience with CMC design, cell voltage/temperature monitoring and battery diagnostics. Expertise in PDU architecture including contactors, fuses, current sensors, pre-charge and HVIL. Experience in lab equipment’s handling, and board bring-up activities. Proficiency with FUSA, CAN, CAN FD, UDS diagnostics, CANoe/CANalyzer. Strong knowledge of MATLAB/Simulink and system engineering. Hands-on experience in HIL/SIL, vehicle validation and root-cause analysis. Working knowledge of ISO 26262, DFMEA and safety concepts. Experience leading suppliers and cross-functional technical reviews. Bachelor’s degree in electrical, Electronics, Automotive or Mechatronics Engineering. Working with Embitel
