Job summary

Emerson seeks a hands-on electronics engineer to design robust analog and digital circuits for harsh industrial environments. You will join a multi-disciplinary team, oversee PCB layout, select components, and run simulations (PSpice/LTSpice) to guarantee performance and reliability.

You will prototype with EMS suppliers, develop test plans, and coordinate with certification bodies for regulatory approvals.

Qualifications

  • BE in Electronics Engineering or related experience plus certifications.
  • 8+ years of relevant professional experience.
  • Good working knowledge of electronic test equipment including scopes, meters, signal generators.
  • 5+ years of experience with analog, digital circuit design and industrial communication protocols (e.g., HART, Modbus, CAN, RS-485).
  • 3+ Years of Intrinsic and explosion proof design experience.
  • Experience working with 16/32-bit MCUs / Microprocessors and peripherals.
  • Strong embedded skills to analyze requirements and develop solutions.
  • End-to-end product development experience leading design teams from concept to release.
  • Experience meeting EMI/EMC requirements for harsh industrial environments.
  • Experience with industrial protocols: HART, Foundation Fieldbus, Profibus, Industrial Ethernet.

Responsibilities

  • Work as part of a multi-discipline team.

  • Develop and execute electronics test plans for verification and validation.
  • Interface with certification bodies and support regulatory approval processes.
  • Influence mechanical, firmware and manufacturing design requirements to ensure end-product success.

Job description

In this Role, Your Responsibilities Will:
  • Work as part of a multi-discipline team.

  • Design low power / high reliability analog design using Op-Amp and digital circuits that should meet working in harsh industrial environment and regulatory standards requirements.

  • Design simulations using (PSpice/LTSpice), signal integrity analysis.

  • Oversee PCB layout, component selection, and design reviews to ensure performance, reliability, and manufacturability.

  • Collaborate with multi-functional teams to ensure overall system requirements are fulfilled with a cost-effective and high-quality approach.

  • Work with EMS supplier for prototyping, Board bring, functional testing and debugging.

  • Develop and execute electronics test plans for verification and validation.

  • Interface with certification bodies and support regulatory approval processes.

  • Influence mechanical, firmware and manufacturing design requirements to assure a successful end-product.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
  • BE in Electronics Engineering or related level of experience plus certifications

  • 8+ years of relevant professional experience

PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
  • Good working knowledge of electronic test equipment including scopes, meters, signal generators, etc.

  • 5+ years of experience with analog, digital circuit design and industrial communication protocols (e.g., HART, Modbus, CAN, RS-485).

  • 3+ Years of Intrinsic and explosion proof design experience.

  • Experience working in 16/32-bit Micro-controllers / Microprocessor with strong understanding of controller architecture and peripherals.

  • Strong core embedded skills to analyze requirements, develop solutions and fix technical challenges.

  • Proven experience in designing the product based on initial requirements that demonstrate end-to-end product development & leading design team from concept to release.

  • Experience developing hardware designs that meets EMI/EMC requirements for harsh industrial environment is must.

  • Well versed with or ability to interpret various industry standards applicable for industrial products and translate them into product design.

  • Experience working in a global engineering environment.

  • Experience in developing hardware for product that involves pneumatic actuators control valve interface will be an added advantage.

  • Strong exposure to product development life cycle processes, tools & methodologies.

  • Experience developing products with industrial protocols: HART, Foundation Fieldbus, Profibus, Industrial Ethernet
