Job summary

UnitedHealth Group is seeking a Lead Full Stack Engineer to guide enterprise mobile and backend delivery. You will architect cross-platform mobile apps with React Native, build Java Spring Boot microservices, and drive AI-enabled development across teams.

You will mentor engineers, lead design reviews, and advance CI/CD, cloud adoption, and performance. This role emphasizes collaboration with Product, UX, DevOps, and Security to achieve impactful health outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 9+ years of software engineering experience with 3+ years in a technical leadership role.
• Hands-on expertise with cloud technologies, Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience leading modernization, digital transformation, and AI-enabled engineering initiatives.
• Solid experience developing and deploying applications for both iOS and Android platforms.
• Proven experience designing scalable, secure, and high-performing enterprise applications.
• Expert knowledge of React Native, Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, and microservices architecture.
• Solid understanding of Agile, DevOps, SDLC, and AI-DLC development methodologies.
• Proven excellent problem-solving, communication, stakeholder management, and mentoring skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end design, development, and delivery of enterprise mobile and backend applications.
• Architect and develop cross-platform mobile applications using React Native for iOS and Android.
• Design and build scalable Java Spring Boot microservices, APIs, and backend integrations.
• Drive technical strategy, solution architecture, code quality, and engineering best practices.
• Lead code reviews, technical design sessions, and mentor engineering teams.
• Implement AI-DLC and Spec-Driven Development methodologies throughout the software lifecycle.
• Utilize AI tools such as Claude Code, Codex, and GitHub Copilot to improve productivity and quality.
• Collaborate with Product, UX, DevOps, Security, and Platform teams to deliver business outcomes.
• Drive CI/CD automation, cloud-native adoption, application performance, and operational excellence.
• Support production stability, incident resolution, modernization initiatives, and continuous improvement efforts.
• Comply with all applicable Company policies, procedures, and business directives, changes including those relating to work location, team assignments, work schedules, and flexible work arrangements
