Job summary

L&T EduTech in Chennai seeks a Lead SME – Computer Science & Information Technology to drive the academic design, development, and continuous improvement of industry-aligned technology programs via College Connect.

The role focuses on curriculum excellence, mentoring of SMEs and trainers, and strengthening industry-academia partnerships to ensure programs remain contemporary and outcome-driven in line with NEP, OBE, AICTE guidelines.

Qualifications

  • Candidates should have advanced leadership in academic program design and delivery.
  • Experience in mentoring SMEs and trainers, and in faculty development programs.
  • Strong understanding of NEP, OBE, AICTE guidelines and industry-aligned curriculum development.

Responsibilities

  • Lead academic design and ongoing enhancement of CS/IT programs.
  • Drive curriculum modernization and alignment with COs/POs/Bloom's taxonomy.
  • Mentor faculty, conduct FDPs/TTTs, and foster industry collaboration.
  • Collaborate with universities and partner institutions on curriculums and projects.
  • Promote innovative teaching methods like project-based learning and virtual labs.

Job description

The Lead SME – Computer Science & Information Technology will provide academic and technical leadership for the design, development, and continuous enhancement of industry-aligned technology programs delivered through the College Connect business.

The role is responsible for driving curriculum excellence, mentoring Subject Matter Experts and trainers, strengthening industry-academia collaboration, and ensuring that technology programs remain contemporary, outcome-driven, and aligned with evolving industry requirements.

The incumbent will work closely with universities, academic leadership, internal product teams, and technology experts to create innovative learning experiences that prepare engineering students for emerging careers in Information Technology.

Key Responsibilities
Academic Leadership
  • Lead the academic design and continuous enhancement of Computer Science and Information Technology programs.
  • Drive curriculum modernization aligned with NEP, Outcome-Based Education (OBE), AICTE guidelines, and industry expectations.
  • Define learning pathways that integrate theoretical concepts with practical and experiential learning.
  • Establish academic quality standards across all technology programs.
  • Review and validate curriculum, laboratory manuals, practical exercises, projects, assessments, and learning resources.
  • Ensure alignment of learning outcomes with Course Outcomes (COs), Program Outcomes (POs), Bloom's Taxonomy, and graduate attributes.
  • Introduce emerging technology topics into existing programs to enhance learner employability.
  • Ensure academic rigor and consistency across technology courses.
Faculty & Trainer Development
  • Mentor internal Subject Matter Experts and technology trainers on pedagogy, instructional methodologies, and learner engagement.
  • Conduct Faculty Development Programs (FDPs), Train-the-Trainer (TTT) sessions, and academic workshops.
  • Build faculty capability in emerging technologies, project-based learning, and industry-oriented teaching practices.
  • Support continuous professional development of the academic delivery team.
  • Work closely with universities, engineering colleges, and academic leadership to understand curriculum requirements and institutional priorities.
  • Participate in curriculum advisory boards, academic review meetings, and institutional engagements.
  • Recommend industry-aligned projects, certifications, hackathons, internships, and experiential learning initiatives.
  • Bridge the gap between academic curriculum and industry expectations through innovative learning interventions.
Academic Innovation
  • Drive adoption of innovative pedagogical approaches including flipped classrooms, project-based learning, virtual laboratories, coding challenges, and experiential learning.
  • Promote research-driven teaching methodologies and continuous curriculum innovation.
  • Track emerging technologies and recommend integration into academic programs.
  • Encourage interdisciplinary learning and technology innovation among students.
Cross-functional Collaboration
  • Collaborate with Product, Content, Delivery, Assessment, and Customer Success teams to ensure successful implementation of technology programs.
  • Provide academic guidance during customer discussions and curriculum consultations with partner institutions.
  • Support development of academic proposals, program structures, and institutional learning solutions.

Educational Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science / Information Technology / Computer Engineering (Mandatory)
  • Master's Degree (M.E./M.Tech./M.S.) in Computer Science / Information Technology (Mandatory)
  • Ph.D. in Computer Science / Information Technology / Related Discipline (Preferred)
Experience Required: 20+ Years

Candidates with experience as Professor, Senior Professor, Head of Department, Dean, Academic Coordinator, or Academic Leader from reputed universities, engineering institutions, or higher education organizations will be preferred.

Industry-academia collaboration and curriculum development experience will be an added advantage.
