Job summary

Technip Energies is seeking a Lead Estimator to drive EPC and CAPEX cost estimates across studies and projects. You will lead cost engineering activities, coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, and ensure alignment with AACE practices and IOC reviews.

The role reports to the Head of Estimation in the India Operating Centre and is based in Mumbai, Noida, Gurgaon, or Chennai. Strong Excel and presentation skills are essential.

Qualifications

• BE / B.Tech with 10+ years in oil and gas estimation.
• Experience in EPC, FEED, and CAPEX cost estimates.
• Proven leadership of multidisciplinary estimates.
• Strong MS Excel, PowerPoint, and data management skills.
• Ability to simplify costs and present price breakdowns.

About the opportunity we offer:

Job Purpose:

• Responsible for preparing estimates and commercial input for proposals and coordinating the activities for the preparation of small and medium-sized service jobs.
• Responsible for preparation of EPC Proposal, CAPEX cost estimates of Class 5 through Class 1 in the different phases of the project (Study, FEED, EPC) in accordance with AACE recommended practices.
• Ensures timely reporting to the Head of Estimating
• Able to report to Senior management during estimate review meetings (SUBMIT).

Job Role:

• Studies and understands the scope of work, contract, schedule, project execution, local conditions, construction execution and scheme of a specific proposal.
• Prepare and plan project estimate methodology that satisfies the client’s expectations, is agreed upon with the Project Management Team and is in line with company guidelines.
• Follow up and coordinate with other departments, mainly with the technical team, Project/Proposal team and support functions.
• Conducts cost review meetings with internal departments and project/proposal team and prepares the review with the Head of Estimating and IOC management.
• Prepares and presents SUBMIT management reviews at all hierarchic levels, cost estimate presentations and basis / overall cost summary /cash flow and exposure and prepares the price breakdown for submission.
• Ensures compliance with QHSES and company standards. Interface TEN global estimating, when necessary.
• Able to collect and update accurate information in relation to the market and reports to the organization.
• Additional departmental accountabilities.
• Conduct benchmarking against historical project data and industry cost databases
• Update and maintain the estimating data bank.
• Supervise / Training / Support to the GETs and junior estimators.

• BE / B. Tech with 10 years or more experience in Oil and Gas consulting industry. Proven understanding of Microsoft Office suite of programs, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, Word. Additionally, candidates should have:
• 10+ years (Minimum) of experience in project estimation and cost engineering.
• Experience in EPC, FEED, industrial, oil & gas, petrochemical, chemical, fertilizer, energy or infrastructure projects.
• Proven experience leading multidisciplinary estimates for medium to large capital projects
• Capability to simplify the cost structure and prepare the price by optimizing the cost elements; good understanding of the main contractual scheme elements influencing the price.
• Good attitude and positive interface with other entities and other operating centers.
• Software skills with MS Office package, especially with Excel spreadsheets and data management.
• Ability to analyze and summarize costs in a short time.
• Job presentation capabilities.
