Job summary

Dar, the founding member of the Sidara group, is a global multidisciplinary engineering consultancy delivering water, wastewater and drainage infrastructure designs across 60 countries.

We seek an experienced Civil Engineer with 8–18 years in infrastructure design to lead studies, computations and client communications on international projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in Civil Engineering and/or Master's in Water Resources Engineering/Environmental/Hydraulics.
• 8–18 years of relevant work experience in infrastructure engineering design for water, wastewater and storm drainage networks.
• Experience in a multi-disciplinary consultancy.
• Strong report writing skills; ability to write clear and concise reports.
• Excellent presentation and communication skills; team player.
• International experience, especially Africa and the Middle East is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform design/analyses for wet utilities (potable water, sewer, stormwater, drainage) using standard engineering formulas.
• Research and prepare design options and documents.
• Prepare engineering computations, quantity takeoffs, specifications and designs.
• Provide technical guidance to CAD designers and junior engineers on projects.
• Interact with clients through meetings and presentations with confidence.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform design/analyses calculations related to wet utilities such as potable water, sewer, stormwater, highway drainage using governing engineering formulas, skills, and experience.
• Research and prepare design options and documents .
• Prepares engineering computations, quantity takeoffs, specifications and designs
• Provides technical guidance to CAD Designers and junior Engineers working on the same project.
• A confident, positive individual, interacting with clients through meetings and presentations.

Education and Professional Skills:

• Bachelors in Civil Engineering and/or Masters in Water Resources Engineering/Environmental/Hydraulics Engineering discipline.
• 8-18 years of relevant work experience in of infrastructure engineering design particularly water, wastewater and storm drainage networks with progressively increasing responsibility.
• Experience working in a multi-disciplinary consultancy.
• Strong report writing skills, with the ability to write clear and concise reports.
• Excellent presentation skills, written and verbal communication, initiative, motivation and a team player.
• Experience working internationally, especially Africa and the Middle East would be an advantage.
