Job summary

Mahindra and Mahindra Limited in Pune seeks an experienced Mechanical/Automotive engineer to lead vehicle packaging, DMU integration, and homologation activities. The role requires deep knowledge of vehicle systems, frame design, and manufacturing processes, with hands-on CATIA and Teamcenter PLM proficiency.

You will coordinate with the product development team to ensure design integrity across variants and regulatory readiness.

Qualifications

• Vehicle system level functioning and design of commercial vehicle systems.
• Frame design knowledge and primary aggregates design principles.
• Understanding manufacturing processes and plant layouts.
• Familiarity with SAM process and CGE/DFMEA concepts.
• DMU, 3D modelling, assembly drafting and vehicle layouts.
• Hands-on Catia and Teamcenter PLM experience.
• Exposure to homologation requirements and CAE testing/validation.
• Coordination with cross-functional product development teams.
• Knowledge of product complexity, modularity, and manufacturing methods.
• Awareness of MPDS, APQP, 8D problem solving tools.
• Experience with 8D problem solving.

Responsibilities

• Concept preparations and evaluation based on weight, cost, attributes, vehicle variants/platform modularity.
• Lead packaging and integration of vehicle systems.
• Vehicle calculation knowledge: wheelbase, CG, performance calculations.
• Lead DMU packaging reviews and sign-off with reports.
• Support validation and service concerns tracking with cross-functional teams.
• Support plant concerns tracking and resolution with CFT.
• Support builds at different phases of the programme.
• Vehicle packaging and DMU sign-off respecting homologation and future regs.
• Ensure EN/PR release, EBOM, installation drawings release through PLM.
• Coordinate releases and participate in benchmarking and target setting.
• Manage homologation documentation, testing, etc.
• Expreienced in GNOVAC/ Vehicle quality audits.

Responsibilities & Key Deliverables

• 1. Concept preparations and evaluation based on weight, cost, attributes, vehicle variants/ platform modularity.
• 2. Lead Packaging & integration of Vehicle systems.
• 3. Vehicle calculation knowledge like, Wheel base calc, CG calc, Vehicle performance calc.
• 4. Lead DMU packaging reviews, Concerns resolution, Preparation of DMU reports & Sign off.
• 5. Support in Validation concerns tracking and resolution along with CFT
• 6. Support in Service concerns tracking and resolution along with CFT
• 7. Support in Plant concerns tracking and resolution along with CFT
• 8. Support Build at different phase of programme
• 9. Vehicle packaging and DMU sign off considering existing homologation requirements and future upcoming regulations.
• 10. Ensure EN / PR release, EBOM, Installation drg release through PLM and track and coordinate other aggregate releases
• 11. Participate in vehicle benchmarking, Vehicle Target setting and Cascading the same to System level targets.
• 12. Manage homologation documentation, testing, etc.
• 13. Expreienced in GNOVAC/ Vehicle quality audits

• 6. Hands on Experience on Catia & Team center PLM
• 7. Exposure to existing and future Homologation requirements of Commercial Vehicles CAE, Testing & Validation
• 8. Hand on experience on coordination with overall product development team including all aggregates, attributes, design and verification/validation
• 9. Knowledge of product complexity/modularity management, manufacturing methods
• 10. Knowledge of MPDS, APQP, DFMEA, DFA, DFM, DFS, QC Tools
• 11. Knowledge of 8D
