Job summary

Celestica is seeking a Lead Engineer, Software in Chennai to own the full lifecycle of our Network Operating System (NOS), from bring-up on new hardware to sustaining advanced networking features. Qualifications

• Experience: minimum 2 years as an IC in networking.
• Proficiency in C, C++, Python, and Go.
• In-depth knowledge of L2/L3 protocols (OSPF, BGP).
• Experience with MPLS, VXLAN, QoS.
• Experience with network management protocols and APIs (SNMP, NETCONF/YANG, REST, gNMI, gRPC).
• Solid working experience with NPUs from Broadcom (XGS/DNX).
• NOS development or sustenance; SONiC NOS is a significant advantage.
• Excellent inter-working and collaboration skills; strong written and verbal communication.

Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Individual Contributor to join our team in Chennai. In this role, you will be responsible for the full lifecycle of our cutting-edge Network Operating System (NOS), from initial bring-up on new hardware platforms to the development and sustenance of advanced networking features. You will be a hands-on technical expert, working on the core of our networking stack and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-performance, robust, and scalable solutions for our customers.

Detailed Description

• Experience: A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience as an Individual Contributor in a networking domain.
• Programming Languages: Rich, hands-on experience with C, C++, Python, and GoLang.
• Networking Expertise:
  • In-depth knowledge of L2/L3 networking protocols (e.g., OSPF, BGP).
  • Proven experience with MPLS, VXLAN, and QoS.
• Management Protocols: Strong understanding and practical experience with network management protocols and APIs (SNMP, NETCONF/YANG, REST, gNMI, gRPC).
• ASICs: Solid working experience with network processor units (NPUs) from Broadcom (XGS/DNX family).
• NOS Experience: Prior experience in Network Operating System (NOS) development or sustenance is essential. Experience with SONiC NOS is a significant advantage.
• Soft Skills:
  • Excellent inter-working and collaboration skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication.
  • Ability to work effectively with multiple functional teams and customer-facing organizations.

Physical Demands

• Duties of this position are performed in a normal office environment.
• Duties may require extended periods of sitting and sustained visual concentration on a computer monitor or on numbers and other detailed data.
• Repetitive manual movements (e.g., data entry, using a computer mouse, using a calculator, etc.) are frequently required.
