Qualifications

• 15+ years in nuclear power or highly regulated industries.
• Minimum 8–10 years in reactor island engineering, systems engineering, design reviews, commissioning, or project engineering.
• Exposure to PHWR and/or international LWR technologies; experience with AERB, NPCIL, reactor vendors or Owner's Engineers preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering activities for Reactor Island and safety-related systems.
• Coordinate design reviews and ensure alignment with project execution requirements.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary interfaces among civil, mechanical, electrical, I&C, and safety engineering teams.
• Support Design Authority processes and maintain design basis documentation.
• Review technical specifications for major reactor island equipment and assist in procurement planning.
• Coordinate regulatory responses and support regulatory design reviews with authorities.
• Resolve site engineering queries, support commissioning planning, and close out punch points.
• Develop in-house expertise in reactor technologies and mentor junior engineers.
• Support implementation of digital engineering tools, engineering databases, and knowledge management systems.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Nuclear Engineering

Job description

Lead - Pre-Dev Coordination & Land Liasioning Responsibilities

Reactor Island Engineering Delivery Lead engineering activities for the Reactor Island, including NSSS and safety-related systems. Ensure timely development, review, and approval of engineering deliverables in accordance with project schedule. Monitor engineering progress and identify potential bottlenecks affecting procurement, licensing, construction, or commissioning. Coordinate design reviews and technical assessments across reactor island disciplines. Ensure alignment between reactor technology supplier deliverables and project execution requirements.

Nuclear Systems Engineering & Design Integration

Manage engineering integration for:

• Reactor Core Systems


• Primary Heat Transport System


• Steam Generators


• Pressurizers


• Reactor Coolant Systems


• Emergency Core Cooling Systems


• Safety Injection Systems


• Radioactive Waste Systems


• Containment Systems


• Fuel Handling Systems


• Nuclear HVAC and Ventilation Systems


• Radiation Monitoring Systems

Ensure consistency of design basis across all reactor island systems. Coordinate multidisciplinary interfaces among civil, mechanical, electrical, I&C, and safety engineering teams. Lead technical resolution of design conflicts and interface issues.

Design Authority & Configuration Management

Support establishment and implementation of Design Authority processes under guidance of Head – Nuclear Engineering. Review design changes and modifications affecting nuclear safety, reliability, operability, and constructability. Ensure all engineering changes are assessed through appropriate configuration management processes. Maintain design basis documentation and engineering records.

Technical Specification & Procurement Support

Support development and review technical specifications for major reactor island equipment and packages. Participate in bid evaluations and technical clarification meetings. Review vendor engineering documents and manufacturing drawings. Support long-lead equipment identification and procurement planning. Assist QA/QC teams in technical inspections and supplier assessments.

Coordinate technical responses to regulatory observations from AERB and other authorities. Ensure compliance with applicable: AERB Codes and Guides IAEA Standards ASME Nuclear Codes RCC-M IEC Standards International Nuclear Best Practices Participate in regulator interactions and technical presentations.

Construction & Commissioning Engineering Support

Resolve site engineering queries and non-conformances. Support construction sequencing and constructability reviews. Lead technical evaluation of field change requests. Support commissioning procedure reviews and pre-operational testing activities. Ensure engineering closure of punch points and commissioning observations.

Reactor Technology & Capability Development

Develop in-house expertise in selected reactor technologies such as: PHWR VVER AP1000 EPR SMR technologies Capture and institutionalize lessons learned from global and Indian nuclear projects. Mentor junior engineers and develop engineering competency within the organization. Support implementation of digital engineering tools, engineering databases, and knowledge management systems.

Qualifications

15+ years in nuclear power, conventional power, or other highly regulated process industries. Minimum 8–10 years of direct experience in reactor island engineering, systems engineering, design review, commissioning, or project engineering. Exposure to PHWR and/or international LWR technologies. Experience working with AERB, NPCIL, reactor vendors, or Owner's Engineers would be highly preferred.
