Job summary

Jobgether SRL in India is seeking a Lead Engineer, IT Applications to administer, develop, and continuously improve enterprise Jira and Confluence Cloud environments. You will own platform configuration, automation, integrations, troubleshooting, and L2/L3 support across business‑critical systems, driving cloud migration and platform modernization initiatives.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional experience in Jira and Confluence administration and development in enterprise environments.
• Hands-on expertise with Jira Cloud and Confluence Cloud administration, configuration, permissions, workflows, schemes, dashboards and content management.
• Experience with Jira REST APIs, webhooks, JSON, authentication, and enterprise application integrations.
• Experience with Jira automation and JQL; ScriptRunner for Jira Cloud is a plus.
• Proven L2/L3 technical support experience and strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem‑solving capabilities.
• Experience translating business requirements into technical solutions and working with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Administer Jira Cloud projects, users, groups, roles, permissions, workflows, issue types, custom fields, screens, schemes, and settings.
• Develop and maintain JQL filters, dashboards, reports, automation rules, and Jira customizations including ScriptRunner where appropriate.
• Administer Confluence Cloud spaces, users, groups, permissions, templates, page layouts, and content structures.
• Provide L2/L3 support for Jira and Confluence, troubleshooting configuration, access, automation, integration, and platform issues.
• Develop and maintain integrations between Jira, Confluence, ServiceNow, and other enterprise apps using REST APIs, webhooks, JSON, and authentication mechanisms.
• Troubleshoot integration failures and coordinate with external vendors or platform support teams.
• Support Jira Data Center to Cloud and Confluence migrations, including space-level migration and platform prep.
• Configure automation and platform enhancements to meet business requirements with reliability and scalability.
• Perform ongoing administration, housekeeping, optimization, and platform improvements across production environments.
• Collaborate with business teams and customers to translate requirements and deliver enhancements.
• Maintain technical documentation and contribute to knowledge sharing and platform best practices.

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Lead Engineer, IT Applications based in India.

This is a hands‑on technical role focused on administering, developing, and continuously improving enterprise Jira and Confluence Cloud environments. You will own platform configuration, automation, integrations, troubleshooting, and L2/L3 support across business‑critical systems. The role combines platform engineering with stakeholder collaboration, translating business needs into scalable technical solutions. You will work with APIs, webhooks, automation, and enterprise applications to streamline workflows and improve productivity. You will also contribute to cloud migration initiatives and ongoing platform modernization. Success in this position requires strong technical ownership, analytical thinking, and the ability to operate independently in a complex enterprise environment.

Accountabilities

• Administer Jira Cloud projects, users, groups, roles, permissions, workflows, issue types, custom fields, screens, schemes, and project settings.
• Develop and maintain JQL filters, dashboards, reports, automation rules, and Jira customizations, including ScriptRunner where appropriate.
• Administer Confluence Cloud spaces, users, groups, permissions, templates, page layouts, and content structures.
• Provide L2/L3 technical support for Jira and Confluence, investigating configuration, access, automation, integration, and platform issues through resolution.
• Develop and maintain integrations between Jira, Confluence, ServiceNow, and other enterprise applications using REST APIs, webhooks, JSON, and authentication mechanisms.
• Troubleshoot integration failures and coordinate with external vendors or platform support teams when escalation is required.
• Support Jira Data Center-to-Cloud and Confluence migration activities, including space-level migration and related platform preparation.
• Configure automation and platform enhancements based on business requirements while maintaining reliability, scalability, and usability.
• Perform ongoing administration, housekeeping, optimization, and platform improvement activities across production environments.
• Partner directly with business teams and customers to understand requirements, recommend solutions, and deliver enhancements.
• Maintain clear technical documentation and contribute to knowledge sharing and consistent platform practices.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional experience in Jira and Confluence administration and development, preferably within enterprise or production environments.
• Strong hands‑on expertise with Jira Cloud and Confluence Cloud administration, configuration, permissions, workflows, schemes, dashboards, templates, and content management.
• Practical experience with Jira REST APIs, webhooks, JSON, authentication, and enterprise application integrations.
• Strong knowledge of Jira automation and JQL, with experience using ScriptRunner for Jira Cloud considered an advantage.
• Experience supporting Jira and Confluence Cloud migration initiatives, including migrations from Jira Data Center.
• Proven L2/L3 technical support experience with strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem‑solving capabilities.
• Experience working directly with business stakeholders and customers to translate requirements into effective technical solutions.
• Strong understanding of integrations involving platforms such as ServiceNow and other enterprise applications.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to explain technical topics clearly to both technical and non‑technical audiences.
• Strong ownership, organization, and prioritization skills, with the ability to manage multiple support and enhancement activities simultaneously.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross‑functional teams.
• Strong documentation, knowledge‑sharing, and continuous‑improvement mindset.
• A bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience in IT, computer science, or a related discipline is preferred.
