Position Overview

We’re looking for a Lead Engineer in RMS Trade Processing team in Foreign Exchange Technology domain of the Deutsche Bank.

Global Foreign Exchange (GFX) is a vital part of the DB Investment Bank that provides our clients with many ways to exchange currencies and manage currency risk. Deutsche Bank has been ranked the Overall FX Market Leader by Euromoney FX Survey.

RMS Trade processing is a platform that allows trade capturing and trade life cycle processing of FX & Commodity trades to support groups from Trading and Structuring to Operations under the GFX Trading desk activities.

The current technical stack includes Java, Kotlin, REST web services, Oracle, GCP. We value working with the business to create a product with long‑term value and writing robust, simple and well‑tested software.

As a Lead Java Engineer (f/m/x), you would drive & contribute to the technology strategy, simplifying the technology stack with cutting edge modern technologies like Google cloud suite and Java micro‑services. You would work with architects & Business stakeholders to solve problems with agile methodologies to release features every sprint and deliver high quality software engineering solutions.

Your Key Responsibilities

• Drive and lead entire engineering solutions to accomplish business goals.
• Building reliability and resiliency into solutions with appropriate testing and reviewing throughout the delivery lifecycle.
• Design, review, and evolve the architecture of features and services. Design and implement APIs, services, and modules; promote and enforce coding standards and development best practices; actively participate in code reviews.
• Drive test automation for new and existing functionality to improve product quality, reliability, and release confidence.
• Provide Level 3 (L3) support for mission‑critical applications, troubleshooting complex production issues and ensuring system stability, availability, and performance.

Your Skills And Experience

• 10+ years of hands‑on software development experience, including 5+ years in a technical leadership position.
• Strong expertise in Core Java (collections, concurrency, multithreading, networking), Spring Boot, and distributed systems. Working knowledge of the .NET ecosystem and Windows platform. Strong SQL and NoSQL database expertise; Oracle experience is an advantage.
• Hands‑on experience applying TDD and BDD practices and designing, implementing, and supporting CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong understanding of microservices architecture, observability and monitoring tools (Grafana), OpenAPI standards, RESTful services, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), and Kubernetes.
• Proven track record of architecting, designing, and delivering complex distributed mission‑critical systems, ensuring scalability, resilience, performance, and operational excellence.
