Job summary

SPIRO is seeking an experienced Lead Engineer – Java to lead the design, development, and delivery of scalable, high-performance Java applications. You will mentor engineers while driving technical excellence and help shape microservices-based architectures.

The role demands hands-on Java and Spring Boot, cloud familiarity, collaboration with cross-functional teams, and a strong focus on code quality, performance, and reliability across complex systems.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience with Core Java, Java 8+, multithreading and JVM concepts.
• Excellent knowledge of Spring, Spring Boot, Spring MVC, and Spring Security.
• Experience with REST APIs and Microservices Architecture.
• Hibernate/JPA experience.
• Good understanding of SQL and relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle).
• Experience with Kafka/RabbitMQ or other messaging systems.
• Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Strong Git, Maven/Gradle, Jenkins/GitHub Actions and CI/CD pipelines.
• JUnit and Mockito for unit testing.
• Strong understanding of SOLID, design patterns, and system design.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of scalable, reliable, and high-performance Java applications.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance to a team of software engineers.

• Develop clean, maintainable, and reusable code following industry best practices.

• Troubleshoot complex technical issues and provide effective solutions.
• Drive application performance, scalability, security, and reliability improvements.
• Participate in architecture discussions and contribute to technical decision-making.
• Mentor junior and mid-level developers and support their technical growth.
• Ensure timely delivery of projects while maintaining high quality.
• Contribute to CI/CD, DevOps, and cloud deployment practices.
• Stay updated with emerging technologies and recommend suitable solutions.

Education

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
