Job summary

Utthunga Technologies is seeking a Lead Electrical Design Engineer in Bengaluru to lead FEED through detailed engineering for process industry projects. The candidate will supervise electrical design activities, review design basis documents, and ensure adherence to international standards.

The role requires 10–15 years of EPC/engineering consulting experience in Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Refinery or Water Treatment sectors, with strong leadership and client/vendor coordination skills.

Qualifications

• BE/B.Tech in Electrical Engineering is required.
• 10–15 years of experience in Electrical Design Engineering.
• Must have worked with EPC or Engineering Consulting companies serving process industries.
• Strong background in Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Refinery, Chemical, or Water Treatment projects.
• Experience leading engineering teams and managing client/vendor interactions.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical engineering activities from FEED through detailed engineering and project handover.
• Prepare and review Electrical Design Basis Documents and project electrical procedures.
• Perform and validate power system studies, including Load Flow, Short Circuit, Motor Starting, and Relay Coordination studies.
• Review and approve cable sizing, battery and UPS sizing, lighting, and earthing calculations.
• Develop and review SLDs, electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, interconnection diagrams, and power & control wiring diagrams.
• Review equipment datasheets, cable schedules, junction box schedules, and hazardous area documentation.
• Lead the design of substations, electrical layouts, earthing systems, and 3D electrical models.
• Support procurement through material take-offs, technical specifications, and vendor document reviews.
• Coordinate with vendors, clients, and multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Develop inspection and test plans (ITP), FAT procedures, and site testing documentation.
• Ensure compliance with project specifications and international electrical standards.

The ideal candidate should have extensive experience in electrical design engineering for Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, or Water Treatment projects, with strong expertise across FEED, detailed engineering, power system studies, and international design standards.
