Job summary

Thoughtworks in Pune is seeking a Lead Developer to serve as the primary client contact and drive delivery. You will balance strategic thinking with hands-on coding, guiding teams to implement a technical vision and deliver best-in-class software.

You will collaborate with clients and teammates, champion DevSecOps and modern design patterns, and mentor others while staying hands-on with code across technologies such as Python, React, and AWS.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience designing, developing, and delivering scalable enterprise web applications.
• Strong System Design experience for scalable, highly available, distributed systems.
• Hands-on experience building microservices, event-driven architectures, and RESTful APIs.

Responsibilities

• Champion and adopt best practices like clean, reusable code, TDD, pair programming and design patterns.
• Oversee or participate in the full cycle of software consulting and delivery, from ideation to production.
• Advocate for continuous delivery to deliver high-quality software and value early to customers.
• Design solutions and select technologies that solve client problems within constraints and make pragmatic tradeoffs.
• Collaborate with teammates to build features and prototypes with UX considerations embedded.
• Apply latest technology thinking from our Technology Radar to solve client problems.
• Code alongside developers and stay hands-on, not post-technical.
• Champion DevSecOps practices to build and deploy software, shifting security left.
• Foster growth and development within the team through mentorship and inclusive culture.

Lead Developers act as the primary point of contact for our clients, ensuring that teams are successful in their delivery. In this role, you will bring a strategic mindset to projects and spend time collaborating and negotiating with clients to bring a technical vision to life. Job responsibilities

• You will champion and adopt best practices like writing clean and reusable code using TDD, pair programming and design patterns
• You will oversee or take part in the entire cycle of software consulting and delivery from ideation to evolution in production and everything in between
• You will use and advocate for continuous delivery practices to deliver high-quality software as well as value to end customers as early as possible
• You will design solutions and choose technologies that solve clients problems while working within constraints and make pragmatic tradeoffs
• You will collaborate with a variety of teammates to build features, design concepts and interactive prototypes and ensure best practices and UX specifications are embedded along the way
• You will apply the latest technology thinking from our Technology Radar to solve client problems
• You will apply a variety of languages and tools to your work and continue to code alongside Developers; you will not be post-technical in this role
• You will efficiently utilize and champion DevSecOps tools and practices to build and deploy software, advocating devops culture and shifting security left in development

Job qualifications Technical Skills

• You have 10+ years of experience in Python, React, and AWS designing, developing, and delivering scalable enterprise web applications.
• You have strong experience in System Design, designing scalable, highly available, and distributed applications.
• You have hands-on experience building microservices, event-driven architectures, and RESTful APIs using technologies such as Kafka.
• You have experience integrating Generative AI/LLM capabilities into enterprise applications using modern AI frameworks and APIs.
• You have led software development teams using Agile, Lean and/or Continuous
• Experience of delivery approaches such as TDD, continuous integration, pairing and infrastructure automation
• Experience of cloud technology such as AWS, Docker or Kubernetes
• You enjoy continuously learning and improving, whether it is through functional programming paradigms, event driven architecture, platform engineering or others
