Gruppo SKF is seeking a Lead Developer in Bengaluru to lead the PLM development efforts. You will translate business needs into technical requirements and drive the design, development, and customization of Windchill PDMLink and Creo Parametric solutions.

• Master’s or bachelor’s degree in mechanical or computer engineering
• 7–10 years of relevant experience, including 3–4 years leading PLM solutions
• Strong programming knowledge: Java, JSP, HTML, REST API, XML
• Deep PLM domain knowledge: Windchill, CAD/Document management
• Experience in Agile environments and matrix organizations
• Knowledge of Windchill PDMLink and Creo Parametric
• Nice to have Thingworx and Python

About Technology Development

The TD team for ISEA is focused on Customer Product development & Engineering, Innovation for the region, rollout of new technologies for the region, testing, Failure Investigation, scaleup from POC to series production, Portfolio Management etc.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Title: Lead Developer

Reports To: PLM Development Manager

The PLM Team, part of Product Development Solutions under Digital Engineering and Innovation (DEI), plays a key role in establishing the SKF Vision “A world of reliable rotation”, by supporting the SKF Business Community in the management of the Technical Product Information in the full value chain. As part of the PLM team, the Development solutions team is accountable for developing and maintaining the overall PLM Architecture including integration to key SKF Enterprise systems. In addition, this team is also responsible for defining technology roadmaps based on the PLM Strategy and ensure new capabilities and solutions are built accordingly.

The PLM Technical Architect is a key position in the PLM Solution Development Team. The role of this person is to understand the business objectives together with stakeholders and translate it to technical solutions. The person understands how technology supports business operations and how this contributes to their critical success factors and OKR’s.

This position will work in close relationships with the internal stakeholders, be part of workshops to identify new opportunities, capture their requirements, support the creation of business cases, evaluate risks and transfers this to technical specifications which can be realized with internal development teams and with external partners.

Key Skill & Knowledge Profile

• Proven experience of defining and developing Windchill PDMLink and Creo Parametric solutions
• In-depth knowledge and development experience with core PLM Modules (Part/BOM management, CAD/Document management, Change management, Options and Variant mgmt.,)
• Strong exposure to PLM Data model schema/architecture preferably Windchill
• Strong programming knowledge of Java, JSP, HTML, RESTAPI and XML is mandatory
• Good understanding of IT domain: software, software development lifecycle
• Able to work in an Agile framework environment
• Knowledge of PTC Thingworx and python programming is an added advantage
• Knowledge of Design processes, Application Engineering process, Sales process is preferred

Key Responsibilities

• Translates functional needs into technical requirements
• Design and Develop/Customize PLM solutions typically involve Windchill PDMLink modules, Creo Parametric, SolidWorks and Inventor).
• Create solution design documents to the development teams (internal SKF and/ IT suppliers) and ensure successful implementation of proposed solutions
• Continuously evaluate, and develop new technologies within the PLM area; make recommendations for system enhancements, modifications, and functionalities
• Build new system configuration, customization/development to aid current and future requirements for PLM
• Drive and implement best practices and methodologies during major rollouts to the existing PLM environment

Candidate Profile

• Master’s or bachelor’s degree in mechanical or computer engineering stream
• 7-10 Years of relevant functional work experience. At least 3-4 Years’ experience in leading PLM solutions development and customizations
• Highly motivated & self-initiator to achieve planned results & business objectives
• Must have good communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a matrix organization setup; and,
• Ability to work in a volatile, uncertain, complex & ambiguous (VUCA) environment.
• Ability to stand up to propose and defend technical solutions, with short- and long-term views
• Be recognized as a Lead to drive and steer new technologies and capability as per PLM roadmap and strategy
