Job summary

TransUnion is seeking a Lead Engineer, Data Development to join our hybrid team in Bengaluru. You will drive data pipeline design and implementation, shaping scalable data systems and analytics capabilities to support business needs and advanced modeling.

The role requires hands-on experience with GCP, BigQuery, Dataflow, and programming in Java and Python, along with SQL/NoSQL database design. You will collaborate with data scientists and engineers on multiple projects across the data platform.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a data engineer or in a similar role.
• GCP experience is a must for this role.
• Hands-on experience with SQL and NoSQL database design.
• Experience with BigQuery, GCS or Dataflow to build data pipelines.
• Strong numerical and analytical skills.

You will use various methods to transform raw data into useful data systems. For example, you’ll create algorithms and conduct statistical analysis. Overall, you’ll strive for efficiency by aligning data systems with business goals. To succeed in this data engineering position, you should have strong analytical skills and the ability to combine data from different sources. Data engineer skills also include familiarity with several programming languages and knowledge of learning machine methods.

This is a hybrid position and involves regular performance of job responsibilities virtually as well as in-person at an assigned TU office location for a minimum of two days a week.

Required Knowledge And Experiences

Requirements and skills

• Previous experience as a data engineer or in a similar role

• Experience with Big query, GCS, Dataflow and other tools and techniques used for building pipeline is a must
• Good hands on experience in programming languages (e.g. Java and Python)\ Technical expertise with data models, data mining, and segmentation techniques
• Hands-on experience with SQL and NoSQL database design
• Great numerical and analytical skills
• GCP Data engineering certification is a plus
