Job summary

Jobgether, in partnership with a client in India, seeks a Lead Consultant specializing in SAP Data Migration to lead complex enterprise data transformation and SAP implementation projects.

You will guide data migration activities, collaborate with stakeholders, and mentor junior consultants in an onsite-offshore delivery model, ensuring data quality, governance, and successful project outcomes for large-scale SAP deployments.

Qualifications

• 10+ years IT project experience with 7–10 years SAP techno-functional or functional consulting experience.
• Experience in at least three full SAP implementation lifecycles.
• Expert-level knowledge of FI, CO, MM, SD, PM, PP, or PS modules.
• Approximately 5–7 years of business-process experience translating requirements into data migration solutions.
• Extensive experience in enterprise data migration, data quality management, data analysis, data conversion planning, and data warehousing.
• Proficiency with BackOffice Cransoft, DSP, SAP Data Services or equivalent.
• Strong SQL and relational database knowledge.
• Onsite-offshore delivery model experience.

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Lead Consultant based in India.

As a Lead Consultant specializing in SAP Data Migration, you will play a key role in delivering complex enterprise data transformation and SAP implementation projects. You will lead data migration activities across critical business functions, ensuring data accuracy, consistency, quality, and successful integration. Working at the intersection of business processes and technology, you will translate client requirements into effective data migration and governance solutions. You will collaborate closely with client stakeholders, business-process experts, and technical teams within an onsite-offshore delivery environment. The role combines hands‑on technical expertise, functional consulting, project execution, and team mentorship. You will also contribute to improving data management practices and ensuring successful project outcomes for large-scale enterprise organizations.

Accountabilities:

• SAP Data Migration Leadership: Lead and contribute to data migration activities throughout SAP implementation projects, including data analysis, reporting, conversion, harmonization, and business-process assessment.
• Data Migration Methodology: Apply established data migration and data governance methodologies, ensuring compliance with project standards, development guidelines, and delivery best practices.
• Functional & Technical Analysis: Analyze business requirements and demonstrate a thorough understanding of the underlying technical data structures, definitions, and dependencies within assigned SAP functional areas.
• Migration Rule Development: Design, configure, and implement data migration and governance rules using specialized enterprise data migration tools, based on business and technical specifications.
• Data Migration Design: Contribute to integrated migration strategies for assigned business-process areas through data analysis, reporting, and collaboration with client stakeholders and onsite business analysts.
• Reporting & Documentation: Design, develop, and execute reports aligned with project deliverables while maintaining accurate technical documentation, migration specifications, and process records.
• Data Load Management: Create, maintain, and execute data load programs, ensuring reliable data transfers and successful migration across enterprise systems.
• Data Validation & Reconciliation: Manage end-to-end data loading activities, perform reconciliation, identify data inconsistencies, and ensure the completeness and accuracy of migrated information.
• Client & Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with client subject matter experts, business-process owners, and technical teams to clarify requirements, resolve migration challenges, and maintain effective communication.
• Onsite-Offshore Coordination: Support project delivery within an onsite-offshore operating model, ensuring alignment across distributed teams and timely completion of migration activities.
• Team Mentorship: Guide and support junior consultants, share technical and functional expertise, and contribute to the development of team capabilities.
• Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to enhance data migration processes, improve data quality, and implement effective solutions to complex enterprise data challenges.

Requirements:

• 10+ years of overall experience working on IT projects, including 7–10 years of SAP techno-functional or functional consulting experience.
• Experience participating in at least three full SAP implementation lifecycles, with a strong understanding of implementation methodologies and project delivery.
• Expert-level knowledge of business processes in one or more of the following SAP functional modules: FI, CO, MM, SD, PM, PP, or PS.
• Approximately 5–7 years of business-process experience, with the ability to translate functional requirements into effective data migration solutions.
• Extensive experience in enterprise data migration, data quality management, data analysis, data conversion planning, and data warehousing.
• Proficiency in enterprise data migration platforms and tools such as BackOffice Cransoft, DSP, SAP Data Services, or equivalent solutions.
• Strong understanding of data structures, data definitions, relational databases, and enterprise data management principles.
• Proficiency in Microsoft SQL is preferred, including SQL query writing, database table structures, and relational database concepts.
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Computer Science, or another relevant analytical or technical discipline, or at least four years of equivalent relevant experience.
• Experience working within an onsite-offshore delivery model, with the ability to coordinate effectively across geographically distributed teams.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to manage complex data challenges and deliver practical solutions.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills, particularly when working with client subject matter experts and business-process leaders.
• Ability to mentor junior team members, share knowledge, and contribute to a collaborative consulting environment.
