Qualifications

• Core knowledge & experience of Coal Planning & Sourcing, Procurement, Supply Chain management & Market Intelligence of Domestic & Imported Coal.
• Knowledge of Coal & Power Demand-Supply Scenario in India, regulatory policies & guidelines.
• Hands-on experience on road/rail/multi-modal logistics & supply chain management.

Responsibilities

• Transportation of coal from mines to plants and planning shipments.
• Oversee and optimize logistics, including vessel and railway movements.
• Procure coal from indigenous and imported sources to meet plant needs.
• Negotiate and manage contracts with suppliers and logistics providers.
• Maintain optimal coal stock levels and ensure continuous plant feeding.
• Manage processing of coal including crushing, screening and blending as needed.
• Collaborate with plant operations to ensure right quality and quantity of coal.
• Oversee unloading, removal of foreign materials and overall coal handling.
• Sustainability, safety and cost control in coal transport management.
• Knowledge of SAP for procurement and logistics workflows.

Job description

Role & Responsibilities:-

• Transportation of Coal from various mines to plants.
• Plan and manage the transportation and delivery of coal from suppliers.
• Oversee and optimize logistics, including vessel and railway movements.
• Process and pay for customs duties, vessel charges, and demurrage.
• Negotiate and manage contracts with suppliers and logistics providers.
• Procure coal from indigenous and imported sources to meet the plant's specific needs.
• Manage vendor development and maintain relationships with coal companies and shipping agents.
• Maintain optimal coal stock levels on-site to prevent interruptions in power generation.
• Oversee the unloading of raw coal from wagons.
• Ensure the removal of foreign materials like stones and metal pieces.
• Manage the processing of coal, including crushing and screening to reduce it to the required size.
• Oversee the blending of different coal types, if the plant uses a mix of Indian and imported coal.
• Ensure the smooth and continuous feeding of processed coal to the main plant.
• Collaborate with plant operations to ensure they have the right quality and quantity of coal when needed.
• Strive for efficient use of materials and resources within the coal handling process.
• Ensure GCV Delivery at Top Band of the Mine Grade as per plant requirement.
• Coal Advances/Refunds/Working Capital Management
• Sustainability, Reliability & Occupational Safety Management relating Coal Transport management.
• Core knowledge & experience of Coal Planning & Sourcing, Procurement, Supply Chain management & Market Intelligence of Domestic & Imported Coal.
• Knowledge of Coal & Power Demand-Supply Scenario in India, Regulatory Policies & Guidelines from Mop, MOC, MOM, MOEF&CC, MOC, NGT, MOR & Rly Board, CEA, CERC CIL/Subsidiaries & other relevant authorities.
• Hands on Experience on Road/Rail/Multi-Modal Logistics & Supply Chain Management.
• Working Capital, Cash Score & Coal Advance/Refunds management for overall Coal Spend Base, coal sale.
• Knowledge of SAP.

Functional Competencies:-

• Sound Understanding of the Power Plant & CHP (Coal Handling Plant) function so as to set up Customer Delivery Framework/5LA in terms of Quantity, Quality & Material/Transport Handling aspects.
• Working knowledge & understanding of Coal Mining Operations including Stripping ratio, OB handling, bill/ Invoice processing, Mine Grade, EC etc.
• Working knowledge & understanding over crucial financial derivatives like EBITDA, Cash Score, FCF, Working Capital, LC/BG Credits, LIBOR etc.
