Job summary

Airtel is seeking a talented Technical Architect to shape our digital landscape at scale. You will design, build and implement robust, scalable solutions, translating business goals into technical roadmaps and executable architectures.

You will lead multi-country implementations, collaborate with stakeholders, and champion modern microservices, containerization, and data/API strategies across the enterprise.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field.
• 10–15 years of Digital Architect or similar experience.
• Proven track record delivering complex, scalable projects.
• Strong understanding of UX, APIs, Microservices, Analytics, and SaaS.

Responsibilities

• Challenge resolution: identify and resolve critical technical challenges with long-term strategies.
• Technical expertise: hands-on with Java/Spring Boot, Node.js, and UI frameworks (React/Vue).
• Database mastery: Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL, and NoSQL options (MongoDB, Cassandra, Couchbase).
• Architectural acumen: design across technical, integration, data, and application layers; multi-country work.
• Hybrid expertise: integrate legacy COTS and homegrown apps with microservices.
• Innovation champion: prototype tech, PoCs, and reference implementations.
• Containerization savviness: Docker, Swarm, Compose, Kubernetes in microservices.
• Strategic vision: align solutions with enterprise goals.
• Execution excellence: plan and deliver with prioritized execution.
• Influential leadership: lead through collaboration with global teams.
• Communication & collaboration: strong verbal/written skills and negotiation.

You will be responsible for designing, building, and implementing robust and scalable solutions that solve complex business challenges. You will work closely with various stakeholders, including business leaders, developers, and other architects, to translate strategic goals into technical roadmaps and executable solutions.

Your Responsibilities:

• Challenge Resolution: Leverage your proven track record to identify and resolve critical technical challenges with innovative and effective solutions. Prioritize collaborating directly with key stakeholders to develop long-term strategies instead of resorting to temporary workarounds.
• Technical Expertise: Possess hands‑on experience in modern technologies like Java (Spring Boot), Node.js (Express.js), and a UI framework like React.js or Vue.js. Proficiency in utilizing messaging brokers (Kafka, RabbitMQ) and streaming processing technologies (Apache Spark) is highly desirable.
• Database Mastery: Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of diverse databases including Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL, along with expertise in NoSQL options like MongoDB, Cassandra, and Couchbase. Entity modeling proficiency is essential.
• Architectural Acumen: Possess proven experience in architecting solutions across all layers, including technical, integration, data, and application architecture. Your experience should encompass multi‑country implementations and collaboration with geographically dispersed teams.
• Hybrid Expertise: Architect and design solutions that seamlessly integrate legacy COTS and homegrown applications with modern microservices, utilizing open‑source technologies.
• Innovation Champion: Lead the development and implementation of technology prototypes, proof of concepts, and reference implementations for exploring new technologies and staying ahead of the curve.
• Containerization Savvy: Hands‑on experience architecting, designing, and implementing microservices solutions leveraging container‑based technologies like Docker, Swarm, Compose, and Kubernetes.
• Strategic Vision: Demonstrate strong strategic thinking abilities and an enterprise‑wide perspective, ensuring your solutions align with business objectives and long‑term goals.
• Execution Excellence: Set ambitious yet achievable goals and meticulously execute on them through well‑defined plans and actions. Effectively manage competing priorities without compromising delivery timelines.
• Influential Leadership: Lead through influence and build strong relationships with diverse stakeholders in a complex, global environment.
• Communication & Collaboration: Possess outstanding communication, collaboration, problem‑solving, and negotiation skills.

Preferred Skills:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (Master's degree preferred).
• Minimum of 10-15 years of experience as a Digital Architect or similar role.
• Proven track record of successful project delivery within complex and demanding environments.
• Strong understanding of contemporary digital technologies and platforms including UX, APIs, Microservices, Analytics, and SaaS.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
