Job summary

Trimble Inc. in Chennai, India is seeking a Lead Agentic AI Engineer to architect and build our foundational Agentic AI Platform.

You will shape the technical strategy, develop full-stack components, APIs, and SDKs, and drive production readiness for AI-powered applications across Trimble’s global construction ecosystem. The role requires 5+ years of full-stack experience with Python and React, hands-on agentic AI exposure, and deployment in AWS/GCP/Azure.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional full-stack software development experience.
• Strong proficiency in Python and React.
• Hands-on experience with agentic AI concepts or frameworks (LangChain, LlamaIndex, vector databases, RAG).
• Experience deploying and operating backend services in AWS/GCP/Azure.
• Solid fundamentals in data structures, algorithms, and system design.

Responsibilities

• Spearhead end-to-end design, implementation, and deployment of backend APIs and SDKs for the agentic AI platform.
• Build frontend interfaces using modern web frameworks to enable seamless agent interaction.
• Evaluate and prototype cutting-edge AI technologies and frameworks for agentic AI and LLMs.
• Collaborate with engineers, UX designers, and researchers to translate concepts into scalable solutions.
• Drive logging, performance tuning, and design discussions to ensure operational excellence.

Key Exciting Responsibilities

• Spearhead the end-to-end design, implementation, and deployment of robust full-stack components, backend APIs, and SDKs for the agentic AI platform.
• Build intuitive, responsive user-facing tools and frontend interfaces using modern web frameworks to empower seamless agent interaction.
• Evaluate and prototype pioneering technologies, frameworks, and algorithms in the rapidly evolving space of Agentic AI and Large Language Models.
• Collaborate with principal engineers, UX/UI designers, and researchers to translate bold product concepts into scalable, production-ready engineering solutions.
• Foster operational excellence across the platform by driving advanced logging, performance optimizations, and technical design discussion.

Essential Skills & Experience

• 5+ years of professional full-stack software development experience.
• Strong proficiency in modern backend languages, specifically Python, alongside core frontend frameworks like React.
• Hands-on experience with agentic AI concepts or frameworks such as LangChain, LlamaIndex, vector databases, or Retrieval-Augmented Generation techniques.
• Solid experience building, deploying, and operating backend services and APIs within a cloud environment like AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Strong software engineering fundamentals in data structures, algorithms, system design, and software development best practices.

Preferred Skills

• Experience building platform-as-a-service or infrastructure-as-a-service components.
• Familiarity with MLOps practices, containerization tools like Docker and Kubernetes, or Infrastructure-as-Code using Terraform.
• Advanced experience with state management libraries like Redux or Zustand, and frontend build tools such as Webpack or Vite.
• Proven experience optimizing the performance and scalability of distributed systems.
