Job Description

Role Purpose

The purpose of this role is to oversee incident management process and define monitoring protocols while ensuring system resilience to manage client expectations and supervise team performance for efficient service delivery.

Areas of responsibility 

Triaging and resolution of tickets-Establish incident monitoring protocols and provide technical guidance to enable permanent fixes for recurring issues.

SLA Monitoring-Review SLA performance across the team, represent the function in meetings, and ensure consistent delivery quality.

Performance tuning and optimization-Collaborate with technical teams in managing production support activities regarding incident resolution, efficient deployments, and implementation of changes.

Perform system Improvements-Collaborate with technical teams to review mitigation measures and proposed improvement actions.

Handling disaster recovery-Develop disaster recovery and data backup plans to ensure system resilience and quick restoration in case of disruptions.

Reporting and stakeholder engagement-Participate in Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs), manage client expectations, and ensure alignment with business objectives.

Team Management-Supervise team members by overseeing daily operations, conducting performance appraisals, and providing feedback.

Knowledge base and continuous learning Update and maintain documentation for complex issues, share best practices within the team, and support ongoing knowledge enhancement to improve service efficiency.

Routing & VPNs: Implement dynamic routing protocols (OSPF, BGP) and set up secure site-to-site IPsec and SSL remote-access VPNs.

Central Management: Utilize FortiAnalyzer and FortiManager for logging, analytics, and mass-provisioning of security devices.

Design, implement, and maintain secure network infrastructures using Fortinet.

• Lead and support firewall migration projects, including policy analysis, configuration translation, and deployment using tools such as Expedition, FortiConverter, and other vendor utilities.
• Build and deploy new network security infrastructures, including greenfield implementations and expansion of existing environments.
• Perform security policy reviews, rule base optimization, and threat prevention tuning to align with best practices and compliance requirements.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex network security issues across multi-vendor environments, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal performance.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (network, cloud, infrastructure, and application teams) to integrate security controls into enterprise architecture.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation, including network diagrams, configuration standards, and operational procedures.
• Monitor and respond to security events, alerts, and incidents, escalating as necessary and contributing to root cause analysis and remediation.
• Participate in a rotational on-call schedule to provide after-hours support for critical network security incidents and maintenance activities.
• Stay current with emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and technologies to continuously improve the organization’s security posture.
