Job description

General Responsibilities

• Manage overall daily operations of the Laundry and Linen room operations.
• Ensure quality control is in place for processing all linen in Laundry.
• Ensures compliance with the departmental BRISOP.

Specific Responsibilities

• Ensure a clean and tidy linen room at all times and report to the Laundry Manager if any items have been damaged (linen as well as uniforms).
• Ensure proper loading and unloading of dryers, and also setting proper temperature for different items that require drying.
• Report to Laundry Manager in case of any uniforms which need to be discarded or replenished.
• Oversee in getting filled linen carts to designated areas.
• Ensure linen and laundry supplies are ordered and controlled in line with business and occupancy.
• Maintain a high level of employee morale through ongoing training and employee activities.
• Oversee the sorting of clean uniforms from laundry and arrange them properly on the shelves and racks.
• Ensure team members adhere to all Health and Safety Regulations.
• Makes recommendations to the Laundry Manager on best practices.
• Keep and update the Laundry productivity report on a daily basis.
• Responsible for re‑washing of linen or special treatment to be done.
• Issue linen to F&B outlets as per requisitions.
• Issues uniforms to all employees and maintain uniform records.
• Responsible for conducting monthly inventory of Room and F&B linen.
• Ensure linen which is torn is placed separately and given for mending to the Tailor.
• Schedules preventive maintenance of laundry equipment and coordinates with Engineering for any maintenance issues.
• Assign schedules and duties to laundry staff as per business needs.
• Assist in determining staffing requirements necessary to meet the Laundry Department's needs.
