The role requires practical knowledge of motherboard diagnostics, component replacement, and ability to communicate repair estimates and turnaround times to customers.

Qualifications

• ITI, Diploma, or relevant technical training preferred; strong practical experience may also apply.
• 1-3 years hands-on laptop repair experience preferred.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Honest, punctual, disciplined, and willing to learn.
• Ability to work independently and within a technical team.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair laptops and desktops from various brands.
• Perform hardware troubleshooting including motherboard faults and power issues.
• Replace screens, keyboards, batteries, RAM, SSDs and other components.
• Install operating systems, drivers, and perform software troubleshooting.
• Maintain diagnosis reports, repair status, and parts records.
• Communicate estimates and turnaround times clearly to team and customers.
• Handle devices and data responsibly, following SOPs and privacy policies.
• Keep repair workstation organized and clean.

Job description

We are looking for a skilled and responsible Laptop Repair Engineer who can diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair laptops and desktops efficiently. The candidate should have practical knowledge of hardware troubleshooting, motherboard diagnostics, component replacement, and operating system installation.

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair laptops and desktop computers from various brands, including HP, Dell, Lenovo, Acer, Asus, and Apple MacBook.
• Perform hardware troubleshooting, including motherboard faults, power issues, charging problems, overheating, and display issues.
• Diagnose motherboard-level faults and perform component-level repairs wherever technically feasible.
• Replace laptop screens, keyboards, batteries, hinges, DC jacks, RAM, SSDs, and other hardware components.
• Perform RAM and SSD upgrades, operating system installation, driver installation, and software troubleshooting.
• Diagnose booting issues, BIOS/UEFI problems, BSOD errors, and system performance issues.
• Perform preventive maintenance, internal cleaning, thermal paste replacement, and overheating-related repairs.
• Maintain accurate job sheets, diagnosis reports, repair status, and parts consumption records.
• Communicate technical issues, repair estimates, and turnaround times clearly to the team and customers.
• Handle customer devices, accessories, data, and confidential information responsibly.
• Follow company SOPs, quality standards, and service warranty policies.
• Maintain an organized and clean repair workstation.

Required Technical Skills

• Practical knowledge of laptop and desktop hardware.
• Experience in laptop disassembly and reassembly.
• Understanding of motherboard circuits, power rails, and basic electronic components.
• Knowledge of BIOS programming and troubleshooting is an advantage.
• Experience with Windows installation, drivers, software troubleshooting, and data backup.
• Ability to use a multimeter and other diagnostic tools.
• Knowledge of MacBook repair, chip-level troubleshooting, and schematic/boardview tools is an added advantage.

Eligibility Criteria

• ITI, Diploma, or relevant technical training preferred; candidates with strong practical experience may also apply.
• 1-3 years of hands‑on laptop repair experience preferred.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills.
• Honest, punctual, disciplined, and willing to learn.
• Ability to work independently and within a technical team.
