Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking a Labour Compliance Executive (Contractual) to manage statutory and project-related compliance documentation end to end. The role involves coordinating with customers, subcontractors, and internal teams to ensure timely submission and audit readiness.

You will guide subcontractors, review documentation, and drive closure on non-compliance while staying updated on wage codes and labour law requirements.

Qualifications

• 3–7 years of experience in labour, statutory, project or subcontractor compliance.
• Graduate degree in HR, Commerce, Business Administration, Social Work, or equivalent.
• Good communication skills with mandatory local language proficiency.
• Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently, manage tasks, and meet deadlines.
• Good working knowledge of MS Office, especially Word and Excel.
• Knowledge of BOCW, CLRA, ISMW, PF, ESIC, PT, LWF, minimum wages and labour law compliance.

Responsibilities

• Arrange initial calls with customers to understand compliance requirements and gather information on document submissions.
• Prepare and provide compliance documents as per customer requests.
• Ensure timely preparation, submission and maintenance of all required compliance documents, online and offline.
• Track customer remarks on submitted documents and coordinate corrections.
• Obtain audit reports related to compliance submissions and maintain records.
• Explain billing process and compliance expectations to subcontractors.
• Review subcontractor compliance documents against checklists and identify gaps.
• Coordinate with Project, SCM, and HR teams to address non-compliance and drive closure.
• Obtain Compliance Manager approval for reviewed documents and share status with subcontractor.
• Support licenses and returns related to BOCW, CLRA, and ISMW.

Labour Compliance Executive (Contractual) Johnson Controls is looking for a Labour Compliance Executive to support project compliance and subcontractor compliance activities across customer assignments. In this role, you will help prepare, submit, track, and close compliance documentation while working closely with customers, subcontractors, and internal teams.

Role Overview You will be responsible for managing statutory and project-related compliance documentation end to end. The role combines customer coordination, subcontractor guidance, document control, audit support, and follow-up on remarks and approvals to help ensure compliance requirements are completed accurately and on time.

Key Responsibilities

• Arrange initial calls or meetings with customers to understand their compliance process requirements and gather information on document submissions.
• Prepare and provide compliance documents as per customer requests.
• Ensure timely preparation, submission, and maintenance of all required compliance documents, both online and offline, in line with regulatory guidelines and internal policies.
• Track customer remarks on submitted compliance documents and coordinate the required corrections or responses.
• Obtain audit reports related to compliance submissions from the customer site and maintain the related records.
• Conduct introductory calls with subcontractors to explain the billing process and compliance expectations.
• Guide subcontractors in accordance with JCI HR SOP and customer requirements.
• Review subcontractor compliance documents against the checklist and identify gaps or non-compliance.
• Coordinate with the JCI Project Team, SCM Team, and subcontractors to address non-compliance and drive closure.
• Obtain Compliance Manager approval for reviewed compliance documents and share the approved status with the subcontractor.
• Support BOCW, CLRA, and ISMW related licenses and returns.
• Maintain knowledge of minimum wages, labour laws, PF, ESIC, PT, LWF, and related compliance requirements.
• Support implementation of the new wage code for subcontractors and vendors.

How You Will Do It

Take ownership from intake to closure, keeping every compliance case accurate, traceable, and submitted on time. Stay close to the work by clarifying requirements directly with customers and subcontractors before issues become delays. Work with discipline and attention to detail when handling checklists, registers, remarks, approvals, and audit records. Use candor and problem-solving to flag gaps early, resolve non-compliance quickly, and improve the process over time. Collaborate as one team with project, SCM, HR, and compliance stakeholders while still working independently and managing priorities effectively.

Qualifications
