Job summary

Cloudxtreme is seeking an L3 NetApp Engineer ONTAP & StorageGRID to deliver advanced NAS/SAN provisioning, manage clusters, and drive upgrades. You will own StorageGRID platforms and coordinate replication, capacity planning, and governance.

This role requires deep ONTAP expertise, proficiency with SMB/NFS/LDAP, and strong ability to troubleshoot latency and protocol issues across global operations.

Qualifications

• Strong ONTAP expertise (9.x+) including aggregates, SVMs, LIFs, volumes.
• SMB/NFS/LDAP multi-protocol integration experience.
• Experience with SnapMirror, snapshots, data protection, and tiering.
• Deep StorageGRID knowledge: architecture, VDCs, replication groups, buckets.
• Proficient in analyzing Active IQ, OCI, and system logs.
• Ability to perform L3 changes, upgrades, and complex storage configurations.
• Understanding ONTAP internals (WAFL, CPs, layout).
• Experience creating SOPs, KBs, and engineering docs.
• Able to collaborate across infra domains for troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Engineer ONTAP clusters, SVMs, aggregates, and storage networking.
• Configure SMB/NFS multiprotocol access, LDAP, and export policies.
• Provision volumes, LUNs, and replication schedules.
• Analyze AutoSupport, OCI insights, and performance metrics.
• Build StorageGRID pools, VDCs, namespaces, and buckets.
• Configure S3 policies, retention, and capacity settings.
• Troubleshoot replication lag, object failures, and protocol issues.
• Lead firmware upgrades, patches, and L3 engineering changes.
• Maintain documentation, runbooks, and topology details.
• Support DR testing, readiness checks, and failover validation.
• Ensure compliance with standards and governance controls.
• Conduct capacity forecasting and performance tuning.
• Coordinate with virtualization, OS, and network teams.
• Drive RCA and implement preventive measures.
• Support global operations and escalations as SME

Role Overview

• Deliver L3 engineering for NetApp ONTAP clusters and StorageGRID platforms
• Manage advanced NAS/SAN provisioning, multiprotocol access, and networking
• Provide deep troubleshooting for latency, throughput, and protocol issues
• Own StorageGRID object storage engineering and governance
• Execute replication, DR alignment, and performance tuning tasks
• Manage lifecycle operations including upgrades and patching
• Support enterprise-scale capacity, availability, and data protection requirements

Required Skills & Experience
