Job summary

Talworx Solutions in Bengaluru is seeking an experienced L3 Backup & Storage and Automation Engineer to lead enterprise backup and storage operations and drive automation initiatives. You will design and implement reliable, scalable solutions and provide L3 support.

You will collaborate with Windows, Linux, VMware, and security teams, develop automation scripts (Python/PowerShell), and mentor L1/L2 engineers while maintaining governance, RCA, and documentation.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Provide L3 technical support for enterprise Backup and Storage infrastructure.
• Troubleshoot complex backup, restore, replication, and storage incidents.
• Perform root cause analysis (RCA) and implement permanent corrective actions.
• Plan upgrades, migrations, and technology refresh activities.
• Develop and maintain standard operating procedures and knowledge articles.
• Ensure backup compliance, data protection, and recovery objectives are met.
• Monitor infrastructure health, capacity, and performance; propose improvements.
• Collaborate with Windows, Linux, VMware, Database, Network and Security teams.

Role Summary

We are looking for an experienced L3 Backup & Storage Engineer with strong expertise in enterprise

backup and storage technologies, coupled with a passion for automation. The ideal candidate will be

responsible for Backup & Storage Administration and BAU activities. Candidate must possess

Automation Skills as well. This role requires deep technical knowledge, problem-solving skills, and the

ability to develop automation solutions that improve operational efficiency, reduce manual effort, and

enhance service reliability.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide L3 technical support for enterprise Backup and Storage infrastructure.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex backup, restore, replication, and storage-related incidents.
• Perform root cause analysis (RCA) and implement permanent corrective actions.
• Plan and execute infrastructure upgrades, migrations, and technology refresh activities.
• Develop and maintain standard operating procedures, technical documentation, and knowledge
• articles.
• Ensure backup compliance, data protection, and recovery objectives (RPO/RTO) are consistently
• met.
• Monitor infrastructure health, capacity, and performance, recommending improvements
• proactively.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Windows, Linux, VMware, Database, Network,
• and Security teams.
• Participate in customer discussions, technical reviews, audits, and architecture workshops.
• Provide technical mentoring and guidance to L1 and L2 engineers.

Automation Responsibilities

• Identify repetitive operational activities and automate them.
• Develop automation using Python, PowerShell, Shell Scripting, or Ansible.
• Build self-healing workflows and event-driven automation.
• Integrate backup and storage platforms with REST APIs for provisioning, reporting, monitoring,
• and health checks.
• Develop automated health checks, compliance validation, capacity reporting, and backup
• verification.
• Create dashboards and automated reporting using Grafana, Elastic Stack, or similar monitoring
• platforms.
• Work with AI/ML-driven operational analytics wherever applicable.
• Contribute to Continuous Service Improvement (CSI) initiatives by reducing manual effort
• through automation.
