Shyam Steel India seeks an experienced Head – Corporate Affairs & Government Liaison to steer the company's public policy, government relations and stakeholder engagement across Eastern India. You will align business objectives with evolving regulations, manage regulatory risk, and guide strategic initiatives with government authorities, industry bodies and key partners.

The role requires a senior professional with 15+ years in corporate affairs or external affairs, preferably from manufacturing

Qualifications

  • 15+ years of experience in Corporate Affairs, Government Relations, Public Policy, Regulatory Affairs, or External Affairs.
  • Preferably from Steel, Paints, Metals, Mining, Cement, Chemicals, Infrastructure, or large manufacturing organisations.
  • Strong network across government and regulatory agencies, particularly in Eastern India.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute the government's engagement strategy and corporate affairs plan.
  • Build and maintain relationships with Central and State Government authorities, regulators, and policy makers.
  • Support expansion, new projects, and strategic initiatives through effective government engagement.
  • Monitor policy, regulatory, taxation, environmental, and industrial developments affecting the business.
  • Provide strategic insights and recommendations to leadership on policy matters.
  • Represent the Company's interests in policy discussions and regulatory forums.
  • Lead corporate affairs initiatives to strengthen reputation and external influence.
  • Develop relationships with industry associations, chambers of commerce, local administrations, and community leaders.
  • Represent the Company at industry forums, conferences, and government platforms.
  • Facilitate regulatory approvals and stakeholder alignment for growth and expansion projects.
  • Support leadership in managing external risks and reputation issues.

Job description

The Head – Corporate Affairs & Government Liaison will lead the Company's corporate affairs, public policy, government relations, and stakeholder engagement agenda. The role will serve as the strategic interface between the Company and government authorities, regulators, industry bodies, and key external stakeholders, ensuring alignment of business objectives with the evolving policy and regulatory environment. The position requires a seasoned professional capable of driving policy advocacy, managing strategic stakeholder relationships, mitigating regulatory risks, and supporting the Company's growth ambitions across Eastern India.

  • Develop and execute the Company's government engagement strategy.
  • Build and maintain relationships with Central and State Government authorities, regulatory bodies, and policy makers.
  • Support business expansion, new projects, and strategic initiatives through effective government engagement.
  • Monitor and assess policy, regulatory, taxation, environmental, and industrial developments impacting the business.
  • Provide strategic insights and recommendations to leadership on policy and regulatory matters.

  • Support leadership in managing external risks, reputation issues, and strategic opportunities.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to the Director on government, policy, and stakeholder-related matters.
  • Graduate with Min. 15 years of experience in Corporate Affairs, Government Relations, Public Policy, Regulatory Affairs, or External Affairs.
  • Preferably from Steel, Paints, Metals, Mining, Cement, Chemicals, Infrastructure, or large manufacturing organizations.
  • Strong network across government and regulatory agencies, particularly in Eastern India.
