Job summary

McKinsey & Company, Inc. in Gurugram, India, is seeking a mining operations analytics professional to partner with client teams, perform rigorous analyses, and develop benchmark-driven recommendations for operational improvements across mining sites.

You will contribute to MineLens’ capabilities, support data collection and quantitative analyses, and travel internationally for project durations of 4–8 weeks or longer, joining a global MineLens team.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or post‑graduate degree in Mining Engineering or related discipline.
  • 3+ years of professional experience in the mining industry with expertise in mining operations (open‑pit or underground).
  • Significant understanding of mining industry dynamics.
  • Passion for analytics and interest in developing new approaches to mining data analysis and application to operational improvement.
  • Strong problem‑solving and analytical capabilities, with proficiency in tools such as Excel, PowerPoint, relevant mining software, and advanced analytics platforms.
  • Experience in applying GenAI tools in current work to enhance analysis or decision‑making is a plus.
  • Prior experience anchoring client engagements independently, with the ability to operate in senior client settings and present complex value propositions to executives.
  • Willingness to work in a demanding, results-driven team environment, with periodic travel to remote mining locations.
  • Open to candidates with international experience who are willing to relocate to India as well.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English; additional language proficiency is a plus.

Responsibilities
